Re: Purchase license for mac
@Gator54321 The Mac OSX version of MakeMKV will have a .dmg file extension when downloaded. The Windows MakeMKV will have a .exe file extension when downloaded. https://www.makemkv.com/download/ It doesn't matter. As he writes, the code will work with applications for both operating systems. Yes I ...

Re: X-Men Apocalypse won't rip
@Recordplay. Please post the error messages that are appearing so the other expert members can check and comment. Sometimes it may be a hardware issue. It's also advisable to have 2 different brands of 4K friendly drives. Some movies may not work on a specific drive but works fine in another brand.

Re: usb to sata adapters?
That doesn't look like mine. The link you provided is for the Y-1099. Perhaps this is a newer model? Mine look like this: https://www.msy.com.au/vic/geelong/pc-accessories/16507--unitek-y-1034-usb-30-to-sata3-converter-cable.html It seems to be getting harder and harder to get. I think it may have ...

Re: usb to sata adapters?
Does the WEme do the firmware flash ok? Lots of complaints for the Unitek on amazon. Hmm... I have 2 x Unitek Y-1034 and have flashed a heck of a lot of drives with them and have had absolutely no issues at all. Hi MartyMcNuts. To clarify, the Unitek Y-1034 USB 3.0 to Sata is the same model in this...

Re: Video quality when backing up to blu-ray discs is reduced
@PaulineSinclair. MakeMKV does not downsample the quality of the blu-ray or 4K UHD movie from my experience. Picture and Audio quality has the exact same quality compared to the disc. I’ve compared a direct playback from the blu-ray disc and a playback from a MKV file. Another way to tell is compari...

Re: Mission: Impossible Fallout UHD - Fails to decrypt
@RonJones. Maybe post the error messages you’re getting like what MartyMcNuts suggested. The experts here may be able to suggest options. PC Optical drives are different in hardware technology compared to home theatre blu-ray players. If the movie plays fine in HT blu-ray players, it does not always...

Re: Mission: Impossible Fallout UHD - Fails to decrypt
I'm new to ripping UHD BDs and just recently installed a Asus BD burner and flashed the firmware to make it UHD BD friendly. I'm using the latest beta of MakeMKV and have successuflly ripped about 10 of my UHD Blu-rays while the only one that failed to rip so far is MI: Fallout. I don't recall if I...

Re: ASUS BW-1601HT best firmware
Does your speed report as "Unrestricted read speed: Possible, not yet enabled"? I am investigating a weird speed issue. My BW-16D1HT rip about 50% slower than my BC-12B1ST when riping DVD? I tried WK/DE FW 3.10 and 3.02 seems to be the same. @redyul My Unrestricted Read Speed is also not ...

Re: Playback with chapter selection on MacOS
@arnstein If you want to watch blu-ray movies using the regular menu functions, you can try the MacGo Blu-Ray Player Pro though this is a paid player app. https://www.macblurayplayer.com/index.htm https://images.macworld.com/images/article/2011/07/mac-blu-ray-player-244761.jpg I’m using the MacGo Bl...

Re: ASUS BW-1601HT best firmware
@Majorkottan Good that your problem was resolved. I ‘m also using an Asus BW16D-1HT blu-ray drive with Firmware 3.01 in Mac OSX. For the time being will be using Firmware 3.01 until such time I would decide on the MK3.10. Average ripping time for 4K UHD discs is 35 mins to 50 mins depending on the f...

Re: burn mkv to blu ray disc
Is there a free option to take an mkv file and burn it to a blu ray disc that can be played on a blu ray player? thanks As far as I know, if you burn a MKV movie file to a blu-ray disc, it cannot play as a regular movie in a blu-ray player. MKV is a “Container” only enclosing the movie chapters for...
