Re: UHD drives
Ok, yes, I concede that the WH14NS40 was not on the original list. However, I also note the date requirement now on EVERY drive. An apparently critical detail. So, this date is a requirement on ALL of these drives now? Also, I do not see the BE16NU50, BW-12D2HT (and PRO), nor the WH126NS58 in this ...

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS55
Just did this method with by BW-16D1HT. Worked perfectly. DOSFLASH on FreeDOS dump, to EEPROM Mover, to DOSFLASH erase, then DOSFLASH write. I'm on 3.01 and reading UHD as we speak. Quick question though, I re-purposed the enclosure from my ASUS BW-16D1X-U. So now I have a Pioneer drive with Asus f...

Re: Which version of BW-16D1HT
Hi, I’m looking into buying a drive and doing the firmware downgrade. Problem is I don’t know which version to buy. I don’t see any mention of a certain version in my searching so I think any kind will work? I was going to buy this https://www.amazon.com/Computer-International-Direct-Blu-Ray-BW-16D...

Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives
Hello All, Based on this forum thread I have ordered an LG WH16NS60 that should arrive in a few days. I assume it will have the most recent firmware installed. Can anyone steer me in the right direction for a firmware change? Am I correct in assuming that with earlier firmware this might become a &...

Re: WANTED: Results of UHD Rips with Dolby Vision
That's actually quite interesting given that the source for it is available. In theory, someone might be able to look at the source and see how it muxes things together. I've no idea if that'd help get it into an MKV format or not. MP4 containers don't support TrueHD (i.e. ATMOS) so ideally you'd w...

I'm wondering if I should try the 3.01 firmware? I'm not clear how much better a (working) clean 3.02 firmware is vs. 3.01 for compatibility, speed, etc. Thanks again! nah just stay with the 3.02 3.01 has the same sleep bug you ran in to with 3.02 you have to open/use the disk soon or it will do th...
