Re: Contagion (US) Won't Rip to MKV
No problems here at all. Ripped US bluray with no subtitles and English as the audio language. Ripped it the day it came out.

Re: Purchasing MakeMKV
You can use the same key at the same time on each OS. Just don't use MakeMKV at the same time meaning rip a movie in Windows then rip a different one in Linux at the exact same time.

Not sure about Linux but, I confirm it does on Windows and Mac. Just don't use both at the same time per TOS.

Re: Which external blu ray player would work best with my ma
Anyone try this one with their Mac and MakeMKV? I'm tempted to give it shot for under $70 but, figured I'd see if anyone else has any comments on it. I see good comments in the reviews. Also, like how it's white and kinda goes with all my Apple products 8) http://www.amazon.com/Blu-Ray-USB-External-...

Re: New Setup
Here is what I do... 1. Rip my bluray or DVD with MakeMKV (size ranges from 3-5 gb for DVD or 15-30 gb for bluray). 2. Convert the MKV to mp4 via Handbrake keeping the resolution as the original (time ranges from 30-90 minutes for DVD or 5-7 hours for bluray). 3. Add metadata and cover art to the mp...

Re: Making MKV, from single layer DVD backups
Ok thanks. I'm just gonna keep doing what I've been doing. I have so many discs and this has become a big project.
Make MKV has made my job easier though and is saving me tons of time not ripping the full discs and only the primary movie.

It is well worth $50. I understand it's free while in beta however, purchased it myself to show my support for a great piece of software.

Re: Making MKV, from single layer DVD backups
@nutflush920 Hi! how do people get 500mb 720P MKV files off Blurays and put them on torrent? That is an inappropriate topic of conversation at this forum... I'm not looking to put files on torrent. I'm just curious as to why my bluray rips are 15gb+ and theirs are 500mb or less. Do I maybe gave a s...

Re: Making MKV, from single layer DVD backups
DVD-9 -> DVD-5 -> MP4 file DVD-9 -> MP4 file Each -> represents a drop in video quality. Got it. So, the drop in quality will be less going DVD-9 -> MP4 than DVD-9 -> DVD-5 -> MP4? Considering I'd only be compressing once from the original source vs compressing an already compressed source? Also, (...

Making MKV, from single layer DVD backups
I have a large DVD collection on DVD+R compressed using primarily DVD Shrink and Colne DVD from several years of backups. When I did the back ups I always did 1:1 ratio with menus and all. My question is wether or not I am OK making MKV's from my backups or should I pull my originals from storage to...
