That's possibly because of the snap; I cannot say, but I have heard that they limit abilities to protect users from malicious files. It MAY be that "create a directory on a remote drive" is one of those protections.
If you've created the directory, does it allow you to write to it?

Re: Beta Key 🔑 Doesn’t Work forced to buy
The date is only checked when MakeMKV starts. It can be turned back right after that. If you leave MakeMKV running while idle (depends on how paranoid we are), it doesn't check the date again.

Re: snap and saving to another folder
Sometimes, names that contain spaces don't QUITE work out. One test is to copy the whole file name, and try creating it manually. Can it be "opened"?
Spaces are a big "gotcha". Also, file names that don't match up with what is actually there can be a problem.

Re: Changing file names help
The template uses the file name AS KNOWN AT THE TIME. A lot of disks do not have a file name built in (mostly DVDs, but some BDs are like this), so the template doesn't know what to do. Changing the name on the FIRST entry on the disk can give it a name to use. That first entry is the disk name, not...

Re: AV sync issue in stream Forced subtitles track turned out to be empty and was removed from output file
For every subtitle track on a BD, MakeMKV will try to make two of them - "everything", and "just those subtitles marked as forced". Usually, disks do not have mixed subtitle types; they have tracks with "everything", and separate tracks of "just the signs and print...

Re: Is is possible to extract certain audio tracks from bluray?
You can use mkvtoolnix to break the particular audio track out from the whole MKV file, but it will be the "whole" audio track in most cases. Getting individual sounds out would depend on your other tools.

Using mkvtoolnix, there should be no decompression/recompression though.

2014 means it won't do UHD, so CD/DVD/BD are what you're limited to.

Re: Purchased the registration key over 2 days ago and nothing
Registration keys are pretty much automatic; when you buy it, it's sent to you by the processor. That said, some email processors bounce that email, or classify it as "spam" and drop it in a different box on your system. Have you checked that? In any case, support@makemkv.com puts you in t...

Re: Combining two index.bdmv files into one mkv output file
Within MakeMKV - No.
Using other tools, there are many, and use of the index.bdmv files isn't necessary. Just using mkvtoolnix and adding the two files together will accomplish the main part of it. It's combining the subtitles and timestamps where things get tough.

Normally, you should have received an email within a few hours. A number of email services and programs may have filtered it out, though, so you need to check where they put "spam" email.

Re: update makemkv license update question
The register link should not be greyed out... Even on my registered copy, it's clickable and brings up the registration box (filled in already). But that's so I could put a different key in, if I needed to.

Re: Cannot open photo-video DVD Disk
If it wasn't built as a "regular" DVD, it is likely it does not contain normal encryption and other things a standard DVD has. Have you tried simply copying the VOB files to your drive, and playing them? You may need to rename them to be "useful", as the raw names were not chosen...

Re: Any benefit to keeping discatt.dat file?
It mainly is an issue if you want to decrypt a disk without the disk present. If you've already done the decryption, it isn't needed, but, SOMETIMES, you can't do it immediately.
