Re: ASUS BW-16D1HT Installation for Mac Question
I want to pick up this player so I can rip uhd discs to emby. However I have a mac desktop and no tower to put the drive in. Can I leave it out on my desk? If not, what do i need? Thanks. I can confirm the Asus BW-16D1HT blu-ray drive works perfectly on Mac OSX. Best set up is as an external blu-ra...

Re: Looking to buy laptop w/ compatible optical drive that can play 4K UHD blu rays (playback only)
nothing wrong with your advise and good article links. but i highly recommend against the Pioneer drives for now as he would have no backup plan if he cant get official UHD playback to work with it with the LG BU40N he can have official playback, unofficial playback and ripping Hi BillyCar11. Good ...

Re: My mistake, Asus BD-16D1H-U Pro
Thanks for clearing up some of my incorrect thinking. A costly mistake on my behalf. Here's what MakeMKV says about the drive in Mac OS X version. I have seen comments that the Pioneer drives don't have BDXL support but the retail box clearly states BDXL Support? The Pioneer retail box with the tex...

Re: Looking to buy laptop w/ compatible optical drive that can play 4K UHD blu rays (playback only)
Hey Guys, I am struggling to put a laptop together that can play 4k UHD blu rays. I understand that I'll need an external optical drive and PowerDVD ultra. I'd be extremely appreciative for any guidance. Like what Woodstock and BillyCar11 stated, there are hardware strict requirements to playback 4...

Maybe wait for a couple of days and the new hash key will be available by that time.

Re: "automatic sdf downloading is disabled or failed" while decrypting
I’ve also been getting the “Automatic SDF Downloading is disabled…” message but luckily still able to rip 4K UHDs successfully in Mac OSX. Avoided configuring the DNS as I’m worried it might mess up my internet connection.

Re: Need a 4K UHD “Friendly” / “Official” Blu-Ray Drive? - Any configuration, any size, any place, I'm at your service!
Alex do you have a drive that i could install in my mac pro 5,1 addition which would be able to rip my 4k blu ray disc? The blu-ray drives Alex sells will work well in your Mac Pro 5,1 installed internally or as an external BD drive. My Mac Pro is the same as yours. In my opinion , I would recommen...

Re: Fatal Error - BD+
Yes, I agree that it’s something to do with this version. I can see where I added Independence Day (BD+ disc) to my server last November so something has happened between then and present day. Hi Lovely Rita. Not sure if this will work, please try to reset your Mac’s “PRAM” if you have not done thi...

Re: Pixels Problem in Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)
Thank you. I'm glad to finally learn someone else has this Blu-ray and sees this same "pixel" problem at the start of the movie during the "WB" screen. As you describe, these pixels are not visible anywhere else in the movie - only at the start of the moving during the "WB&...

Re: My head hurts from this...
I tried that.... both things... several hours later... Wasn't lazy. Did several searches and read several threads... tried several firmwares and flashers... That firmware didn't load. Checksum error, etc... Maybe you can provide more details on how you're applying the firmware to the drive or scree...

Re: "automatic sdf downloading is disabled or failed" while decrypting
I also got the message “Automatic SDF Downloading is Disabled or Failed” but the 4K UHD ripping continued and was completed successfully. Hope no other problems occur. Using Asus BW16D-1HT Firmware 3.00 with MakeMKV version 1.14.3. Mac OS Mavericks.

Re: TSSTcorp SE-506AB TS01
Hey guys, MakeMKV tells me that my drive supports LibreDrive but it's not yet activated. Does that mean that there is a chance an update might remove the rip-lock sometime in the future? If so, are the chances good or rather bad it being an older drive? Is there anything I can do to help? Cheers Yo...

Re: External Enclosure UK
I'm between PC's at the moment (rebuilding) and so using my laptop. My excellent UHD friendly Asus 16D1HT (Firmware 3.01) which is normally connected directly via SATA is currently sitting in a box. Am I right in thinking as its already UHD friendly that the USB connection, if I install to an enclo...
