The UK version of Logan Lucky (2017) is another disc that has this extra video at both the start and the end.

I trimmed it manually using MKVToolNix but it would obviously be preferable if MakeMKV added the ability to parse the relevant data to avoid ripping these redundant parts of the video.

Has anybody else ripped this disc? Someting weird is going on. The film length is 1h 58m 38s when I play the disc with VLC on my computer but MakeMKV reports the main feature as 2h 7m 38s. There are some weird test frames added at the start (about 14 secs) and then minutes of the stuff after the end...

Not sure what happened but the link in the initial post to the SDF.bin doesn't work anymore for me unless you add the www. to the domain name. I.e https://makemkv.com/sdf.bin doesn't work for me but https://www.makemkv.com/sdf.bin does.

It works for me without the www.

You can set up VLC integration from the Preferences in MakeMKV.

Sorry if this has been asked but how do I find out if my drive has encrypted or unencrypted firmware? I just got the Asus BW-16D1HT and want to flash it but I can't figure out if I should use the cmd prompt with the "enc" extension or not. My drive info in MakeMKV if it's of use: Drive In...

It's a VLC-specific setting so you can change as often as you like.

If you use VLC to play back the copy on HDD, you can change the region code in VLC to match the disc.

Ah, yes, OK. For some reason I thought he had already changed from the stock 1.05.

I'm not sure that you need the 'enc' flag. Try without that.

You can't use MK firmware with DVDFab.
