Re: Is there a way to downgrade the firmware on a Buffalo BRUHD-PU3 from BU11 to BU10?

im not 100% sure but if you have a BRUHD-PU3 i think it is safe to flash. Having a Buffalo BRXL-PT6U2VB, I also suspect that it would be rather safe to flash a BU40N FW - but the more important question IMHO is whether it would be worth doing it. To get an answer to that, I'd have to rephrase my qu...

Re: Is there a way to downgrade the firmware on a Buffalo BRUHD-PU3 from BU11 to BU10?

I just used the tried and true LG BU40N_1.00.bin and got the same results but this was with the Buffalo BRXL-PT6U2VB slim drive so ymmv. Hi, so your crossflash enabled UHD-Blu-ray disc reading on the BRXL-PT6U2VB? @Billycar11 Concerning your two BU40N DE firmwares - what MK FW / drive type would th...

Re: Is a purchased reg. key only good on 1 PC?

You can install it on multiple computers, but the license is for one user ... No lending it to your friends, but you can run it on multiple computers yourself. IMHO this "little detail" should be mentioned on this subpage http://makemkv.com/buy/, as one could run this fine piece of softwa...

i can connect via telnet, what commands would you like me to run? uname -a This should reveal the Linux kernel version and the architecture is runs on, probably armv7l . cliprog If this tool is present, a lot of player (Mediatek chipset) specific commands can be executed. busybox Truly a Swiss Army...

historical anecdotes

Before Mr. bd-com built/cloned devices, he modified firmwares and before there was a M9702, boxes like the M9700 & M28 were shipped over the oceans. The mainboard of the M9700 looks like it was "borrowed" from the Philips BDP9700 (Mediatek MT8580 main SoC & Marvell 88DE2755 QDEO vi...

Re: A player without an optical drive, is like a car without wheels.

SACD Iso's Work Perfectly Fine! Ohh, so you have already tested this - NICE! Does it also offer DSD output via HDMI? anything in particular you want me to Test? Featurewise no, but if this Oppo-clone does support remote telnet connections we could find out what Linux kernel runs on and what Mediate...

A player without an optical drive, is like a car without wheels.

Nice looking TV you've got there spl147, is that a VIZIO P-Series 55 inch model?

Although you use a soundbar, do you care about SACD ISO support and would you like to test it on your "wonder box from the far east"?

HD-DVDs still play in 2019

I have a number of HD-DVD's .., what drive are you using to read these discs into your system ...? The cheapest and most fuss-free solution would be a Xbox 360 HD-DVD addon drive , which you can connect via USB 2.0 to your PC. AFAIK most if not all the internal HD-DVD ROM alternatives featured a PA...

Good news indeed !

Good evening, here is an older FW updater called: fwupdateroddpt_102.exe It has an even greater model support list (still keeping my fingers crossed that some of those might be UHD compatible with MK FW after all    ): BRUHD-PU3-BK, BRXL-PT6U3, BRXL-PT6U3-C, BRXL-PT6U3-D BRXL-PT...

To list or not to list

Hello spl147,

as you may remember finding answers to that kind of questions was the original intend of my playback post half a year ago.

Have you got any other devices to add apart from this new "weird box" from the far east?

Re: Are my drives supported?

For my Buffalo BRUHD-PU3 (BU10 firmware), LibreDrive didn't kick in for the first disc for some reason but did on the second. Hello flashback8, is that drive of yours a UHD-official or "just" a UDH-friendly device? My Buffalo BRXL-PT6U2VB was briefly tested (LibreDrive line appeared in th...

Re: LG BE16NU50 Firmware 1.00 Not Displaying LibreDrive

Is "allow contacting web server for updates" enabled in preferences? Bingo! Not only was that option OFF but my firewall also had a blocking rule for "makemkvcon64.exe". In the end I got this in the status window: MakeMKV v1.14.3 win(x64-release) started Debug logging enabled, l...
