Re: BU40N firmware question
Hi everyone, I recently followed the official UHD flashing guide to aid me in getting my newly bought bu40n (came with rom version 1.04) capable of ripping 4k Blu ray discs. The guide itself is great, as is the windows gui for the sdftool command line flasher particularly since the release of the l...

Re: Flashing ASUS BW16D1HT to WH16NS60
Hi Guys, thanks for the clarification. I think I might just wait on the Pioneer desktop drives being made available sometime soon I hope. Zilog23 Well it has been almost 2 years since Mike got our Pioneer firmware dumps to examine and there has been no progress updates so it could still be a very l...

Re: UHD Enabled Drives (Australia & NZ only) & DIY "Single Drive Flasher UI" available worldwide!!
Hi everyone, Just letting you know, I have: 2 x LG BH16NS55's in stock with firmware WH16NS60 1.02-MK (or whatever firmware you prefer) = $155.00 each. 2 x LG WH14NS40's in stock with firmware WH16NS60 1.02-MK (or whatever firmware you prefer) = $150.00 each. And don't forget, the "Single Drive...

Re: SDFtool Flasher
I have been advised that Buffalo BN13 is an encrypted firmware, so this has been added to the encrypted firmware list. SDFtool Flasher has been updated to v1.2.3 to include this firmware. Download link has been updated in the original post of this thread.

Re: SDFtool Flasher
Not sure if anyone had tried this yet, but I just wanted to mention it works fine in Windows 11... the *ARM* release of Windows 11, running in a virtual machine on an M1 Mac. I gave it a go because I didn't feel like digging up my Windows laptop. The only workaround I needed to implement was to cha...

(I also have 1 x Unitek Y-3324 SATA/USB powered adapter available. These are $37.50 each when purchased together with a drive) And don't forget, the...

Re: Baffalo BRUHD-PU3 BU13 to BU10 failure
BU13 is encrypted https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=25988 Thanks Billy, but that doesn't say for sure if it is encrypted or not. The person who flashed his drive also didn't mention if he used "enc" or not. Also, that was more than a month ago. If it is in fact encr...

Re: Baffalo BRUHD-PU3 BU13 to BU10 failure
I don't think the problem is with the tool but with the firmware. This thread is about patching the Buffalo drive that has BU13 (not BU12). I am using sdftool with HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-BU12-OM01001-211902230922.bin (and I tried others too). It fails whether I check the encryption or not. https://i....

Re: SDFtool Flasher
Just wanted to a throw a big thanks out for this tool. Recently had to replace my archgon BU40N external after the previous one bit the dust. This was painless and idiot proof, flashed and running again in 5 minutes. Last time I had to do the CLI version which wasn't difficult, but as usual with CL...

Re: SDFtool Flasher
One more question Marty, can your updated tool read encrypted firmware (I don't have a drive with encypted firmware anymore). And if yes, will it decrypt it or is reading an encrypted firmware impossible or useless? Thanks! Ever since MakeMKV could remove encrypted firmware, it has been able to rea...

Re: SDFtool Flasher
I have made a minor code adjustment so that the encrypted firmware checks are more accurate.
The latest version is v1.2.2. The download link in the first post of this thread has been updated. Those that downloaded v1.2.1 yesterday, please download the latest version.
