Re: No English on one disc
Thanks. Actually your post in the other topic (the 'I'm stumped..' one), has shown the problem. I ran the bdmv copy of the disc I have on a hdd through MakeMKV without restricting the language to English only, and you're correct that it now has three English audio tracks that are all labelled as Jap...

No English on one disc
Not sure if my issue might possibly be related to this one - https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=25906 but anyway...I ripped the bluray boxset of Father Brown and am having trouble with one episode. Its The Rod of Asclepius on Series 4 Disc 2. It seems then if I rip it to a bdmv ...

Re: Ripping Flash Gordon (Again)
Thanks I tried that but you made me realise that I hadn't pointed MakeMKV to the discatt.dat file, which does seem to work.
Now I get to see what happens with the copy on disk not being decrypted...

Ripping Flash Gordon (Again)
Have been having trouble ripping the 4K Flash Gordon, bought in New Zealand if it matters. After trying and failing and getting lots of scsi errors, giving the disc a (gentle) clean, shutting the PC down completely and restarting, I tried unchecking the decrypt box and seem to have copied the whole ...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.3
Apologies if this has been asked a million times before, but these profile things (which I know nothing about)...
It seems there are DV profile 5 and DV profile 8 and maybe lots of others. Does 1.15.3 always make one particular profile or does it vary depending on I don't know what ?
Thanks.

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
1. Do I need to re-rip anything? In my searching on this thread before I put my post up it seems a few months ago there was a new release of MakeMKV that was important to use for DV playback. MakeMKV 1.15.1 supported DV, but in a proprietary way that the author invented. Once the MKV spec itself wa...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Can I just ask please if there are any Dolby Vision Demo files available (preferably mkv's) to test with the modified Exo Player.

Re: Track length in The Last Ship
Wondering if anyone might have any thoughts, as it turns out ffmpeg will shorten an episode nicely, but it also makes audio track 2 (the long one) disappear completely, according to MediaInfo, and I'd prefer to keep it. Thanks.

Re: Track length in The Last Ship
Seems like using a bit of ffmpeg works, which is good.

Track length in The Last Ship
Hi. Have acquired and started ripping the The Last Ship bluray box set, using 1.15.2 under Windows. So far, for Season 1, all the episodes are the same length 45m38s but the episodes themselves of course vary. It seems that, similar to here https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=22568...

Re: Same episodes, different duration
Interesting. Thanks for the info. Most likely the Pal disc played speeded up then.

Same episodes, different duration
Don't know whether I should ask in this forum, but you chaps know a thing or two about videos , so - I ripped Inspector Lewis DVD using MakeMKV (I think, it was a while ago), and now I'm ripping the bluray versions and it seems the bluray versions are longer than the DVDs. Looking at some of the epi...

Thanks for all the help folks, including the hint about the update tool.
Hopefully I'll have a go in the next few days, but if there's one thing I'm good at its prevaricating...
