Re: OWC Blu-ray drive?
Sweet! Glad you got it sorted.MovieMan88 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 7:04 pm
I was finally able to use SDFTool after installing a newer version of Microsoft .NET framework! The flashing worked and I am now able to read UHD disks. Thank you for your patience, much appreciated.

Re: OWC Blu-ray drive?
I have the OCW Mercury Pro, yes. That Is why I used this thread to get an answer. Hoping that would work. This enclosure has the LG BH16NS40 and the SDFTool does not recognize any drive exists. I am running Windows 10 64bit. Well, I'm almost out of ideas, but since you're running Win 10  , ha...

Re: OWC Blu-ray drive?
I also tried using the SDFTool but that cannot locate the OCW USB external drive, dont know how I can be so confused on what seems like such a simple task. This OWC enclosure? USB enclosures/sata adapters that work with optical drives and flashing: OWC Mercury Pro 5.25 case If not, are you ...

Re: OWC Blu-ray drive?
Tried to flash it with MK file: HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.02-NM00100-211810291936.bin and got a Updating failure #5 Using the modified ASUS ODD FW Changer You read right past this note... TWICE. Re: Asus BW-16D1X-U
The flashing tool would not open unless I ran it as an administrator. The Asus firmware would not flash onto the drive. I ended up using the WH16NS60 1.02 firmware and it worked like a champ. Libre mode is enabled and I'm ripping 4K discs! Also, currently ripping Solo: A Star Wars Story with no pro...

Re: OWC Blu-ray drive?
Its an LG BH16NS40 drive, my concern is what firmware am I suppose to use? The only one I have seen that matches is the BH16NS40-NS50 firmware, but I dont believe that is what my drive is. At least I dont see the NS50 anywhere is system information. Recommended Firmware to flash for MakeMKV: WH16NS...

Re: OWC Blu-ray drive?
Sorry to piggy back on this thread, but I have an OWC external drive running 1.05 firmware that I am trying to downgrade. I cannot use the Self Update firmware software because I get a "Checksum mismatch" error, so i tried to use DosFlash64 with my windows 10 64bit OS and it does not reco...

Re: Asus BW-16D1X-U
Thank you! Is there a guide here or YouTube video on how to flash the drive and where to get the firmware? Flashing firmware on a Mac for LibreDrive I'm gonna guess this 2020 FW is encrypted, so the 'enc' switch is required for the 1st flash? From the Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2021...

Re: Asus BW-16D1X-U
Based on what you see is this drive 4K friendly? It looks like it, to me, but as this drive seems to be something new, could you check the following? - Is there a FW dump file in your MakeMKV data directory... dump_FW_[~20 hex characters].tgz? The data directory path is defined on the 'General' pre...

Re: Asus BW-16D1X-U
MakeMKV does report the desired 'Drive platform: MT1959'... a re-badged BH16NS40 per the 1st label in the next post.

Re: Regsitry settings for Speed
I have looked at the examples, and none of them show and actual picture if the settings... HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MakeMKV is the reg key the key is speed_HL-DT-ST_BD-RE__WH16NS40_1.05_212005061440_KLNK369253 What I am not sure of is the value.... the examples show the value in quotes: "D1=...

Re: logfile
Hello --- where is the location of the "logfile" When you enable "log debug messages" on the 'General' preferences tab & restart MakeMKV when prompted, the path is reported in the output pane, below the MakeMKV version... i.e. : MakeMKV v1.16.3 win(x64-release) started Debug...

Re: LG WH16NS40
I just picked one up and am trying to figure out what firmware to flash to it. I have been following this guide: https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19928 But since that is talking about a different drive I am a bit lost on which firmware to actually flash to it. Thank you for any help....
