Re: WH16NS40 Flash UHD 4k Movie Not Working

@h8dyt In your first post you mentioned “the first UHD movie that….” If I’m not mistaken, I’m assuming it’s the only 4K UHD disc you’ve tried so far. Maybe you can try other 4K UHD movies and see if the work. Or try cleaning the 4K disc you currently have. Just a thought.

Re: MakeMKV - Mac compatibility

Bump. Little help? Probably asking about a problem no one else has. But I would like pointers on how to COMPLETELY uninstall MakeMKV, so I can at least confirm whether or not it's causing the hiccups. Thanks. Hi gd0000. Welcome to the community and thanks for joining. On my end, I’ve been using Mak...

Re: Windows 7?

I didn't see anything in the search results buy my eyesight is not the best. Does makemkv run on Windows 7 currently? I don't have a machine to test this on and I'm assuming the answer is yes but better to be safe than sorry. Thank you makemkv community! Was able to Run MakeMKV on Windows 7 Home Ed...

Re: Upgrading UHD drive to LibreDrive

Thanks. So, whilst mine doesn't appear on that list, I believe others have used this drive successfully. MakeMkv reports the drive as LibreDrive capable, but not enabled. By 'UHD friendly' do you mean can it read UHD discs? Yes it can, I've backed up a couple of UHD discs using it. Great to know th...

Re: Upgrading UHD drive to LibreDrive

The OP just wants to add LibreDrive if possible. As @Coopervid mentioned, there is a UH12NS40_1.01_MK firmware available in the MK firmware pack. You could try this firmware with either of the windows flashers. Thanks MartyMcNuts for the clarification and heads up. Sorry for the confusion. Good to ...

Re: Upgrading UHD drive to LibreDrive

I have a stock LG UH12NS40 drive running f/w 1.00. It works fine in MakeMkv, but I think upgrading it with LibreDrive support would breath new life into it. This is the drive info; OS device name: \Device\CdRom0 Current profile: BD-ROM Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST Product: BDDVDRW UH12NS40 Revision: 1.00...

Re: Avengers 4 endgame

I have a Mac with a Superdrive, and the Blu-ray from the 4K version reads for about 20 seconds, then gets spit back out, with no errors... any idea why?? Apple's Superdrive only supports DVDs and CDs. Apple never released an optical drive that can read/write blu-ray discs. https://discussions.apple...

Is there something better than MTR?

Thanks,

You can check out this link on a list of DVD Rippers for Mac OSX that might help. I rarely do DVD as disc image backups and most of the time I use MakeMKV to save DVD movies.

Re: WH16NS40 Hash Check Errors

I guess I will see if I can send the drive back. the disc is brand new with no marks of any kind. I also tried a couple other discs and same problem. Thanks! Assuming your drive is connected externally to your iMac via USB, try double checking the USB port or the USB cable if the communication betw...

Re: DVD Drives Compatible with Mac?

So far the DVD writers I've used with the specs for Windows OS only have all worked in Mac OSX. Even when the writer manual states for Windows, the drive worked in Mac OSX I would also read the customer reviews like in Amazon to check if anyone has used the dvd drive in a Mac. Or ask the seller if h...

Re: Can't rip (or even read) "The Hunger Games: Catching fire"

SamuriHL is right, the 4K disc quality is poor. Had a 4K UHD Coco movie, the disc would not rip after the first and second cleaning of the disc. Then after the third cleaning, finally the 4K disc ripped successfully. I guess certain 4K discs are unpredictable and “sensitive”.

Re: Just purchased a key...

I'm a longtime beta user who decided to buy a key. Registration was flawless and easy. Activation was fast and perfect. No issues. No complaints. Carry on... Been using MakeMKV for many years and it’s worth the investment. It’s a good, reliable app. It can also detect 11+ old blu-ray and dvd drives.
