Re: Understanding the Drive
For software player, look into JRiver . They also have their own very active support forum alongside their developers. For a second ripping software option, AnyDVD . Could work as a backup option for ripping media content. As well as removing/manipulating Region Codes on media content. They also hav...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020
It's too old to ever do UHD Ok, it appears you are confused. As it was advised above, no , it will not read/decrypt UHD content. UHD is just another acronym for 4k media content. Google is your friend if you wish to verify that. Flashing that drive will result in a bricked drive. If you still wish ...

Re: Game of Thrones UHD Complete Series 1-8 - No Decrypt Key yet
I just started to rip the first season but the 2nd disk (episodes 4 - 6) don't work. I got this message: The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted Strange since season 1 has been out before on UHD format? What is discussed in this thread: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewt...

Re: Understanding the Drive
This begs the question(s): Why are you trying to remove the Region Code from the hardware, instead of removing the Region Code from the media content altogether? You mention that you own/use MakeMKV, which creates MKV container rips where Region Coding becomes a mute point. Also, as you discovered a...

Hey folks, I've got a WH16NS40 running original/unpatched 1.02, and am considering reflashing it to WH16NS60 1.02MK per page 1 of this guide. However , I'm caught up on the third "IMPORTANT Before you flash" step: 3. SVC NS50+ LG only I can't figure out what this means. Can someone explai...

Re: Saving Private Ryan "light leak"
Thanks for the replies. If it's "creative intent", why isn't it on the dvd or blu-ray release? And it appear at slightly different times and patterns on the different disc's I've tried. The attached screenshot wasn't the best, the light is more prominent later on. It wasn't on the first S...

Re: Back to the Future won't read on my ASUS drive
The poster of this thread: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=23467 Links to a Youtube video. Towards the end of that video MakeMKV returns information in the bottom pane regarding the disc. Are you getting that same or similar output on your end? Or does it not get that far at a...

Re: Back to the Future won't read on my ASUS drive
We need a little more information aside from “it does read” to try and better advise. Any error(s) returned by MakeMKV and/or its error log? If so, can you post them here? Is it just returning a “no disc inserted” warning? Has this drive been previously flashed to any other firmware? Can you post yo...

Hi. I'm a super noob at this kind of thing. I just started getting into ripping my disks after I bought a Synology NAS. The convenience is awesome. So far though, I have only been able to rip the few DVDs I have since I only had a DVD drive in my laptop. I have lots of blurays and 4k blurays in my ...
