Re: Using Java Runtime Environment to get around obfuscation
has anyone had any luck on this for the Mac? I'm running to 10.13 and the Java detection isn't working. How do I know? Because on Windows it works fine with the same backup... I got it working exactly once, and then it never worked again. I've tried multiple java installations, multiple macOS', and...

Re: Are you really trying to hack this application?
MakeMKV is free while in beta. There's a beta-key available in the News section you can use. They're a little late on posting it for August though. Unless it's not gonna be free anymore? The updated β is almost always late. If you find it annoying, I suggest you buy a proper key which will always w...

Re: Code for interface with other encoders (e.g. Handbrake)
You can just create the folder manually, and copy the files manually.
The 'code' is just terminal commands to create a folder called "lib" in your userfolder and copy those two .dylib files to it.

Re: MakeMKV now fails to complete BluRay backup every time
I actually see the same behavior. I used to have a 90% success rate a couple of years ago, now I am down below 50%. And these are with brand new discs. I guess it could be my drive failing, so I will be looking back to this thread when I upgrade, to see if there's something else going on. At least W...

Re: Gatekeeper High Sierra 10.13.4 never freely allows MakeM
Right click the MakeMKV binary in Finder, and select Open, and then say yes in the next dialog. GateKeeper shouldn't annoy you from then on with MakeMKV, until you update it. (That's what I do) To turn off Gatekeeper completely, use the same as your command #1, but run it with sudo: sudo spctl --mas...

Re: What is the correct play list [insert title here]?
Hello, I found a neat way to figure out what title is real and which are fake. I simply bring up VLC Media Player and load the disc in DISC mode. When the menu comes up I select the movie (or episode for TV series) and start them playing. I then pause the movie and go to the top menu of VLC Media p...

Re: How to choose between Duplicate files
Since MakeMKV just gives you what is on the disc, it is up to you to find out which one is correct. Just view them.

Re: Install Java for Mac OS High Sierra
I don't think those articles will help us much unfortunately. But back on topic, I now have multiple Blu-rays where the obfuscation isn't detected by MakeMKV, despite it clearly being there, as there's is zero mention of Java runtime is required in the logs. I've installed, removed and reinstalled J...

Re: I need to recode all! H.265 to H.264- lossless conversio
It seems Plex has no problems handling h265? Now I'm for Synology to find out why my ds918+ connection on internal lan is so bad. Plex is having some issues with h265, but it is mostly supported, and will only get better. OK: Can someone tell me why MAKEMKV .mkvs and Plex aren't compatible as is? T...

Re: I need to recode all! H.265 to H.264- lossless conversio
If you are anal about quality, which I assume, then there's really only three options: 1. Bug Sony about adding h265 support. But if the hardware is lacking a decoder, then that's very unlikely to happen. 2. Get another TV. 3. Re-rip everything. As Woodstock says, encoding from an already lossy form...

This would be very nice to have, as it can take several hours to rip a Blu-ray!

Re: Problems ripping Blu-Rays on Mac (Sharp drive)
Having recently ripped Princess Mononoke, I know there isn't much special about it. Hate to say it, but it looks like your drive has lost its ability to read multi-layer disks. Anything over about 25GB is failing, isn't it? Could be, as I have no clue. I'll keep a look out and see if that is indeed...

Re: Problems ripping Blu-Rays on Mac (Sharp drive)
I am also getting plenty of SCSI errors using my no-name Blu-ray RW drive, that I use to rip. I am currently seeing about ~50% fail rate on ripping completely new Blu-ray discs, so it is getting quite annoying to say the least. DVD rips just fine on the same drive, despite the discs looking as if th...
