Human Planet error
I just ripped Human Planet (disc 1, US) and I got the correct file (37.4gb), but it won't play back. It only gives a black screen and the file never plays, even though I hit play in the player (zoomplayer and mpc-hc). I can seek but it's always black. There were 4 options. 3 individual episodes and ...

Re: Angles in Tangled?
I think what angles means in animated films, is the text of things is in different languages. so like toy story 3, if there's a box that says "Toys" on it, it will have the Spanish, French, whatever language version of the word on the box depending on which angle you choose. I would imagin...

Re: Streaming issues
I'm not sure as I've not used streaming, but there is no "upgrade from the beta". the latest version is the latest version, whether you pay or not (as long as the program stays in beta). But fwiw, I ripped 2 of the 3 of those films with no problems. is ripping them and simply playing them ...

Re: Source Code BR
ok, at 26:14 through 27:02 it plays the same scene 3 or 4 times in a row. it doesn't seem to flow with the movie and I think it's incorrect. can anyone confirm?

Re: Source Code BR
I had the same thing happen to me today. I just chose the first one and it seemed to rip it ok (I did various seeks until the end, haven't watched it yet).

Re: Does MakeMKV alter a Blu-Ray's digital audio at all?
ah ok, that definitely makes a huge difference on my soundbar. I recommend ac3filter if you aren't already using it. I use the 2/0 setting and it's great.

Re: Does MakeMKV alter a Blu-Ray's digital audio at all?
it rips without any alteration. are you using your usual media player (and codec) to play it? I know with mine, ac3filter sounds much better than ffdshow.

Re: How to rip Blu Ray into 720p instead of 1080p?
I tried several rippers before that insisted on changing the format when ripping, which took hours. When I re-encode to 720p, I generally use about 4000-5000kbps and convert the audio to 640kbps AC3. The resulting file is usually about 2-2.5GB per hour. But it takes about 2X the length of the movie...

Re: How to rip Blu Ray into 720p instead of 1080p?
ok as an example I looked up a torrent of the latest bluray I ripped (The Chaperone). The 720P torrent I looked at had a 739kbps bit rate. My rip has a 30,000kbps bit rate. the large file sizes have the data which makes HD, HD. these rips are so low quality it's a crime (literally and figuratively).
