Re: Zombieland 4K UHD Dump Submitted

The most important detail of which is... There is just one version of Zombeiland (dump suffix 1C8D) that still does not work . It certainly would, eventually. Without going into much details, the reason is: Producing a key with a "current" method would destroy some valuable data (this disc...

Re: Trouble ripping Leon The Professional

I do have a question about this disk - there's the theatrical release, but then there's 2 separate "director's cut" long versions - one is about 0.1 gb larger than the other but seem to have the same running times. Which is the "real" track for the director's cut? It MIGHT be th...

Re: Matrix from 1999 won't copy

I have been trying to copy the Matrix from 1999 and I get the following error. MakeMKV v1.17.6 win(x64-release) started Using direct disc access mode Title #2 has length of 12 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 120 seconds and was therefore skipped Failed to open disc The Disk plays...

Re: Makemkv is useless

Spend some time reading to better understand people's issues. I've been following the problem for ages & I understand the collective frustration of those experiencing issues. While it's roots are manifold, it isn't a MakeMKV problem, per se, except for the hosting being in the Russian Federatio...

Re: Makemkv is useless

It would be nice to understand the process. ... The process is detailed in 1st post of the UHD FAQ . Increasingly, users are running into issues retrieving new keys: Fixing Volume Key is Unknown Automatic HK download disabled or failed hkdata.crabdance.com or hkdata.fairuse.org not found IF you are...

Re: Just grabbed an old revision WH16NS40, will I have any issues?

STOP!!!

Versions of LG WH16NS40 manufactured before ~Oct. 2015 are too old to support UHD (HW predates the standard). MakeMKV will report " Drive Platform MT1939".

"Drive Platform MT1959" is required for UHD.

Europe? You could buy a pre-flashed/tested drive from asmcom, or one of the other vendors (by location) lurking hereabouts.

Could be grounds for cleaning the drive optics? @Billycar11, or @MartyMcNuts might be able to offer some guidance? I've exhausted my conventional wisdom... & there's a Nor'easter brewin'.

Re: Lost UHD support on flashed drive

Just to be clear, it's not "The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted", but a "No disc inserted", correct? Lately, there can be a number reasons for a "The volume key is unknown..." msg.

Re: Lost UHD support on flashed drive

Gently clean one of the problem discs... lint-free cloth, mild dish soap 1st if it's stubborn.

Re: Lost UHD support on flashed drive

Had the blue laser gone kaput, BDs would be a no-go. For the sake of being thorough, have you retried any discs you've previously ripped successfully?

Re: Lost UHD support on flashed drive

If external, power down the drive for ~a minute.

If internal, power down the PC for ~a minute.

Restore power & retry.

Re: Movie and TV Show Naming Procedure

This is helpful too! But what I saw was an actual database where you do a search and it tells you how it’s listed. But then again this might be better since it’s Plex telling you how it needs to be titled. Thanks! I use an old program ( YAMMM ) someone wrote ages ago for WMC. With all the metadata ...
