Re: What do you guys do with your DVD copies from Blu-ray/DVD combo packs?
I guess it depends mainly on your financial situation. If your income is low enough that selling them would make a difference, then you could try eBay, always making sure that you make it clear that you're only selling the disc to avoid misunderstandings, but you've said that your collection keeps g...

Re: 4K movies from the UK
I got the flicker info from a web site, as they mentioned 25fps vs 30fps. A-ha. I suspect that must have been related to the very old analogue signals which were indeed different - in the US you had NTSC which would run at 60 Hz (30 frames, interlaced) and in Europe we had PAL at 50 Hz (25 frames, ...

Re: 4K movies from the UK
Not sure where you've got the idea about flicker , but no, there won't be any flicker or any issues whatsoever. Unlike DVDs and standard Blu-rays, the 4K UHD Blu-ray specification doesn't have regional restrictions so they will play just fine, even directly in your 4K player (if you have one).

Re: Beginner Question - list of titles/languages for discs?
When it comes to spoken (audio) languages, MakeMKV should always show you the language on the track selection. Similarly, the subtitle tracks are also named appropriately. As for screen titles in different languages. There are two reasons why this can happen: REASON 1 - The text is displayed from a ...

Re: How to get copies of shows I legally own
I'm scratching my head on this one because I don't understand why they will play fine in my living room, but will not rip on my desktop. When a movie is played back on a "normal" player and the drive can't read some tiny part of it - it will skip it. You may either not even notice it or s...

Re: Building a computer for bluray ripping
(...) has a large collection of Blu-rays and DVDs 2x4TB storage drives in a raid. ^ This right here is going to be a problem, if by "large" you really mean large and if he wants to preserve the highest quality, that is - just rip and not transcode the files. I would call my collection &qu...

Re: Gremlins 4K UHD won't rip - volume key unknown
Out of curiosity, what does the disk look like? Brownish color? The disc itself is completely black, here's a photo of it: https://i.imgur.com/ogpVajv.jpg If yours is brown, then I guess it's this one (found on Google): https://highdefdiscnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/IMG_3507-1024x559.jpg ? ...

I ripped it on the 6th of November, but there could be different releases. I have the UK release that came in a steelbook case.heapercreaper wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2019 2:43 pmI'm curious if anyone else has had any luck ripping this disk?

Re: How many TB drive to hold complete GOT series?
Woodstock asks if the OP would be wiling to try transcoding, but I think the better question is - does he want to start a Blu-ray collection, but prefers to watch the content from the HDD or is he not planning on buying any other discs in the future, he's just a big Game of Thrones fan and only want...

Re: Wrong aspect ratio in some video players
According to the MediaInfo, the size of the video is exactly 1920x1080 so it doesn't look like there's anything wrong with the file itself. I would just ditch this other player if I were you and keep using VLC. Alternatively, get Plex and use their player - it also seems to be able to play anything ...

Re: Men In Black International - 2 Main Features
I figured it out. I made a backup and watched all 4 .m2ts files (338, 342, 343 and 343) which are short 21 second scenes where the agent enters an area and she looks at a screen/monitor. In each file, there's different content on the monitor - the first one shows Elon Musk, the second one shows Pier...

Re: Men In Black International - 2 Main Features
I'm just about to rip this movie (the 4K version) and I also see 8 versions. They're all the same length, but they refer to different segments: Men In Black- International_t01.mkv Source file name: 00252.mpls Segment map: 1,337,342,339,340 Men In Black- International_t02.mkv Source file name: 00257....
