Re: 3D MVC Option

I think he meant TAB.

TTB = Top To Bottom, I think.

I just assumed he meant TAB because he mentioned it in the same context as SBS.

But yes, it's actually TAB.

I used his (sinious) terminology so he wouldn't get confused.

Re: 3D MVC Option

@sinious: Short answer to your question: No. Longer answer: When your 3D movies are Side-By-Side or Over-Under (SBS, TTB), the image sent to the TV is, as you said, a normal sized 2D frame, unlike BluRay 3D which is encoded completely different. When a 3D BluRay is played, a special flag is sent to ...

Re: 3D MVC Option

@sapstar: Not auto switching your TV to 3D isn't really XBMC's fault. For that to happen, your TV needs to be sent frame packed data so that it knows it's 3D. XBMC sends your TV raw 2D frames for HSBS and HTAB and your TV decodes that to 3D, which means there is no way for XBMC to signal your TV to ...

Re: 3D MVC Option

@docchris: That's hardly surprising given that proper 3D support in XBMC only recently materialised in XBMC v13 and MVC has only very recently started to become a focal point for the majority of users who care about 3D. Like me, you were way ahead of the curve 3 years ago I'm afraid, and those of us...

Re: 3D MVC Option

The bottom line is that your media player IS decoding the MVC and playing it correctly. On a technical level it would be nice to know exactly what transmission method it's using, but if you can't tell a difference visually then really, who cares ? If it's decoding it to HSBS and transmitting it as t...

Re: 3D MVC Option

Homepage for the eGreat player here: http://en.egreatworld.com/en/product-detail-322.html It doesnt explicitly state support for MVC MKV, but it does seem to support 3D Blu-Ray ISO so it's conceivable that it can handle MVC. I still find it very odd that you have to tell the player to go into SBS mo...

Re: 3D MVC Option

@sapstar: What you are saying makes no sense. If you are forcing your TV into SBS mode that should definitely NOT work with any MVC encoded 3D MKV movie. The encoding is completely different and SBS is a completely different way of encoding a 3D movie that requires re-encoding of the source to eithe...

MVC 3D - Stereoscopic Player 2.2.7 released

I've just noticed that v2.2.7 of Stereoscopic Player has been released with a new improved UI and various other enhancements. http://www.3dtv.at/Products/Player/History_en.aspx ht Just downloaded it and tried it out and I'm impressed, the new UI is a considerable improvement for an HTPC environment ...

Re: 3D ripping support

@patseguin: 1. The quality of a rip via DVDFab and MakeMKV should be identical unless you are doing some kind of re-encode after the rip in DVDFab. But if you are just ripping in each app then you are not changing the quality of the source in either case, so the end result should be identical. 2. Ma...

Re: How can change bitrate 8000 to other value

MakeMKV does not re-encode anything so it cannot influence the bitrate of anything. MakeMKV ONLY rips discs into an MKV container. The audio and video streams from the source do NOT get altered and neither do their bitrates. It is therefore impossible for MakeMKV to affect the bitrate of anything. W...

Re: 3D Newbie - MKV SBS Mode?

So much confusion about 3d, as usual. @NutFlush920: MakeMKV cannot convert your 3D BD rip into SBS for a very simple reason: It is not an encoder, only a ripper. When MakeMKV rips a disc it does NOT re-encode anything, the audio and video streams stay exactly as they are. It simply puts the audio an...

Re: 1.8.9 - File naming seems to be a bit broken

Hi PaulCB I can assure you, it's doing what I say it's doing, and I've been using this software for a long time. But admittedly the specific circumstances under which the problem occurred were not normal, in that, I ripped a 2D version of the movie, and then immediately after that I ripped the 3D ve...

1.8.9 - File naming seems to be a bit broken

I'm busy ripping several Blu-Rays and it looks like MakeMKV is ignoring the Filename that I set before I start ripping now. No matter what I set the output Filename to, it always writes the rip to "MovieName_t01.mkv". I picked this immediately on trying to rip 2 BDs in a row because despit...

Re: 3D MVC Option

@Batiatus: 1. HD audio isn't working because you clearly haven't configured your audio codecs correctly. DirectShow Audio needs to be configured to bitstream HD audio. 2. You are seeing a black screen in SCP because you haven't configure the rendering and output modes properly. There are many differ...

Re: 3D MVC Option

Not as an MVC encode, no.

ive got it in mutiple other formats though.

But thats 1 movie, so not exactly a train smash.

Like I already said, subtitles ARE a problem IF you need them, I agree.

Stereoscopic Player is still the only software option for playing MVC, regardless.
