Drive too old, unfortunately. I don't think it's even capable of reading UHD or BDXL discs. I have the same one installed on a couple of my desktops.Product: BDDVDRW UH12NS30

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2019
Within the next 24 months I'd like to get a server rack at which point I'll likely get a rack mount case and thus can but something with the dedicated 3.5" bay so in that respect the internal drive might be the better option long term anyway even if I have nothing to put it into today. Do note...

Re: Question about ripping DolbyVision and playing it
Alternately, you could keep full ISO rips on HDD. I use a USB 3.0 10TB drive (more like 9TiB) that I got for $150 from Best Buy for this purpose. I typically rip just the main movie only to MKV so having the ISO available if/when I want to watch extras or in case I ever need to re-rip is convenient ...

Re: Avengers 4 endgame
Yea, I have a script that I use that enables LibreDrive mode for the drive and then uses ImgBurn to create a protected ISO. Same idea. Just open the ISO with MakeMKV to check if it's supported periodically. Question, how do you do this? I'm guessing this only works for MK firmware? I create protect...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2019
Just received the drives and both have been flashed using the Unitek Y-1099 USB3-SATA adapter mentioned in the first post. Unexpectedly easy. :D The LG came with 1.04 so I cross flashed that one with Asus 3.10 MK first before flashing NS60 1.00 DE. Anyway, thank you for all the hard work on these to...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2019
as he said check they are correct svc and build date they will most likely be. for the lg i would recommend ns60 1.00 de or 1.01mk it is faster and no sleepbug, for the asus go 3.10mk Sounds good. Will do that. Hopefully, I can just do everything via USB. If necessary though, I have access to Nehal...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2019
Whatever you decide, please check the NS40's SVC code before you put it in the machine and make SURE it's an NS50 drive before flashing it. There's a DE and MK firmware for the NS50 should it end up being compatible. The MK 3.10 ASUS firmware is what I run on my BW-16D1HT and it works great in both...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2019
Thank you very much for this guide, the tools and patched firmwares. I didn't think we'd ever be able to rip 4K/UHD. I've been using and had a MakeMKV license since 2016 but only registered for the forums now. I have an incoming LG WH14NS40 and Asus BW-16D1HT. Which firmware should I flash for the f...
