Re: Forced subtitles in DVDs
For ripped DVDs like the latter case, can I direct MakeMKV to only extract the forced subtitles from the English subtitle track? As mentioned here , unlike BDs, MakeMKV does not offer the option to rip only forced subs from DVDs and off the top of my head I'm not aware of any player (VLC, MPC-HC, P...

Re: How to create a new remuxing profile?
The default.mmcp.xml is stored inside the appdata.tar that's stored to the MakeMKV program directory, at least on Windows.

Re: Separate export for FORCED and regular SUBS
I'm encoding them to H.265, burning in the forced at that time, but leaving the non-forced as user selectable. Which could be done just as easily with one forced track and one regular track, both not burned in. Even if you insist on MP4 as a container, most players would play the external subs just...

Re: Separate export for FORCED and regular SUBS
Probably because it's pointless. Why have the regular subs without the forced items anyway? Because the forced items will then overlay your burned in forced items? Burning in means re-encoding which is a no-no anyway. And since most current players read the flags, having only the forced items as the...

Re: Forced subtitles in Plex (No Time to Die)
Strangely VLC and mkvtoolnix are also only seeing one English subtitle track? You could paste the output from a MediaInfo scan of the largest m2ts (set to view > text, then put it into code tags). So are you saying there is no solution for this? No way to get a separate forced srt file? To get from...

Re: Average UHD File Size
Yeah, no, not for harddrives. Especially not if the data on it doesn't change often.leosantare wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 6:09 amOf course, you can fill your drive up to the max, but it wouldn't be ideal. Logically, you would want some headroom as that goes pretty much with anything.

Re: new user with questions
I have been deselecting all of the subtitle tracks but did I make a mistake for certain movies? Is forced subtitles the same as forced narrative? Meaning in certain scenes the dialogue is shown on screen for a brief period so you can understand an alternative language? The subtitles shown to have y...

Re: Random Scramble in Blu Ray Playback
EDIT: So I have extracted the video tracks from the output files from MKVToolNix and MakeMKV and they both have different hashes -using the SHA3-512 hash- but they also have different sizes so that's enough to know they are different. Weird, I'd expected different MKV file sizes since MakeMKV and M...

Re: Easiest way to save US English Blu-ray movie with these particulars?
It's relatively easy for me to do this in DVD Shrink with DVDs; typically I don't have to click a lot. In MakeMKV Blu-ray though, it auto-selects EVERYTHING, and trying to de-select what I don't want... there's dozens/hundreds (?) of things, most of which I know I don't want. MakeMKV can not recogn...
