Re: MakeMKV Blu Ray rIps failing to network drive, OK on loc
At the end MakeMKV flushes buffers - writes a lot of small chunks in random places over the file. If this is the case it might be something with the version of samba the NAS is running. Flipping out when it "writes a lot of small chunks in random places over the file". I had close to the ...

Re: How do you make a MakeMKV MKV file, dlna compliant?
Well I should have said its useless for what I use it for. First embedded subs is one of the main issues. I watch a lot of anime. Not about to rip the subs out of every single show when I want to watch them. Though I could make a VBScript to do this for me with mkvtoolnix. I have made VBScripts to d...

Re: Subtitles on Marvels The Avengers
How many subtitle tracks are shown for each language? If it is TWO, then one is the "forced" subtitles, the other is a complete set. There probably are NO subtitles tagged as "forced". In my collection, there is only one BD, Avatar, that actually implements forced subtitles with...

Re: Oblivion Bluray issue
Will second this. Something is funky with one of my Game of Thrones disks. Played EVERYTHING on it through my PS3 but it chokes on backing up. Disk looks perfect. Had to backup from a friends copy which went without issue.Smithcraft wrote:Because ripping requires more accuracy than just playback.

Re: World War Z / After Earth / Homeland
Just some personal experience info if it helps this topic any.
I backed up After Earth and World War Z with 1.8.5 in OS X 10.9 with no issues or warnings.

Can't speak for the others but I ran After Earth with no issues and no warnings. Make MKV 1.8.5.

Re: DTS-HD MA - Why are MA and Core both selectable ?
It was my understanding that with DTS-HD MA the core track MUST be selected because DTS-HD MA is only the audio data dropped after converting to lossy DTS. Where as with TrueHD (very uncommon from what I have seen when backing up my BluRay collection) is the full audio track so you can drop the core...

I just want to say the support of MKV in Samsung TV's is pathetic to the point of useless.

MakeMKV and Growl
I always wished MakeMKV supported Growl so I could send notifications to my PC when backups were done. As I use my Mac Mini to do the backups. As well as using Prowl to send them to my phone too. Then reading the change logs I see Growl support was actually added in 1.6.4 then REMOVED in 1.7.7 in fa...

Re: Aspect Ratio is always 16:9
I think your talking about XBMC or the like. I hate this too. All BluRay's are 16:9. The black bars are encoded into the video. So using something like makemkv to backup the movies causes XBMC to think everything is 16:9. The worst problem is there is ZERO way to override this without re-encoding th...

Re: IRON MAN 3 errors out
I think this is the same problem I am having. Forgot to copy the error and trying to back it up again now.
Most annoying part is it errored on the very end of the backup.

Re: aspect ratio tags possible?
You can have XBMC display the correct aspect ratio by adding the info to a local .nfo file for the movie with stream details. e.g.: <fileinfo> <streamdetails> <audio> <channels>6</channels> <codec>dtshd_ma</codec> <language>eng</language> <longlanguage>English</longlanguage> </audio> <subtitle> <la...

Is there any status on this? I would love for this to work as I always include the subtitles when I do backups but would only like to select the first English subtitle track. I have been trying this but all I get are 'Invalid token' errors. -sel:all,+sel:(audio&(eng)),-sel:havemulti,+sel:(subtit...
