Re: Problems with HD DVD on Linux version
(One thing, though - when I say "disc", I really mean "folder structure, ripped by AnyDVDHD". I know AnyDVDHD doesn't always play nice with MakeMKV, but I'm guessing this isn't relevant in this case, since the same folder structure works in Windows) OK, I just tried to connect a...

Problems with HD DVD on Linux version
Hi. I've just installed Linux version 1.6.1 of MakeMKV, and I've tried ripping a couple of HD DVDs. Every time, the main title is split into two files. It seems that MakeMKV is unable to join the EVO-files if a title is split into more than file. I also tried this on the Blade Runner disc which uses...

Re: Feature Request - Naming Tracks
I would love to see this feature as well. I'd also like to have the ability to name chapters.
BTW: You don't need to remux the file, you can use mkvpropedit to set the names of the tracks. It's a command line tool, but if that doesn't scare you, you'll save a lot of time compared to remuxing.

Re: Question About makemkv's subtitle flag setting....
I use mkvpropedit to get rid of the default subtitles. mkvpropedit file.mkv --edit track:s1 --set flag-default=0 If you're using Mac or Linux (or if you've installed cygwin for Windows), you can do it on many files at once: for file in *.mkv; do mkvpropedit "$file" --edit track:s1 --set fl...

Re: Movies ripping with French/Spanish Dubbed over the audio
This depends on what player you have, but most players have an option to change audio track, and select the english. You could also try deselecting the non-english audio tracks when ripping the movie.

Re: Feature Request: Preview Window in MakeMKV
Figuring out the order of TV episodes is probably the most important usage. I've ripped a few series, and assumed that the tracks were in the right order, only to find out later that I've named the episodes wrong. It would also be helpful in finding the edition you want when ripping a movie with sea...

Re: Feature Request - Open/Edit a MKV
Although this would be handy (Doing everything with one program) This is not what MakeMkv is for and not what the developers want it to be for, and in the end of the day we all have to respect their wishes. true post, if the developer doesnt want it then fine IF ITS FREE. Pay $50 is another thing H...

Re: Subtitle
Software players have been slow to incorporate "PGS" subtitle format playback capability. Try VLC v.1.1.0... PGS is from Blu-ray and HD DVD. He was ripping a DVD, so the subtitle format should be VOBSUB (which he also said it was). There should be pretty good vobsub support in most player...

I don't get the connection. What does Life or WVC1 have to do with HD DVD support?

Re: Feature Request... Retain TrueHD 'AC3 Core'
You're right in that blu-ray discs sometimes have a seperate ac3 copy of the sound track, however the main TrueHD track will always have a core ac3 file. When you play a blu-ray disc in a player, if you are connected to a receiver that doesn't bitstream truehd, you get the ac3 core. You don't have ...

Re: h.264 instead of MPEG2?
But, there's nothing to choose. MakeMKV doesn't encode video at all. It extracts it and puts it in a new container.cornfedcub wrote:I wish there was a way to chose the video encoding type.

How can I select audio/subtitle tracks with makemkvcon?
Hi. I'm thinking of scripting makemkv, and have been looking briefly at makemkvcon. I've made a couple of test rips, and everything seems to be working fine. Howver, I haven't been able to figure out how to select which audio- and subtitle tracks I want to keep. Is this possible with makemkvcon? If ...

Re: Some titles missing, even when reading from decrypted files
Multi-pgc titles are used for interactive content, not for movies. They are very much like a menus where playback is assembled from short clips. It's unlikely that MakeMKV would ever extract these as "real" titles are never encoded in such way. Ah. So it's really the disc that has been ma...

Re: Some titles missing, even when reading from decrypted files
Title 3 in VTS 1 is a Multi-PGC title Title #1 was skipped I have the same problem with an Aquarium DVD I have. On this DVD there should be six titles (three different aquariums, and the option of full tank or close up on all three). When I scan the DVD with MakeMKV, all titles are Multi-PGC titles...
