Re: BD 3D/2D - video bitrate
Yes, a 2D release is only one eye, but it is the only thing that needs to be encoded, so it gets all of the bits. You are not going to be able to tell the difference between the two encodes anyway. Watch either one.

Re: BD 3D/2D - video bitrate
Where do you think the bits come from in order to display the image for the other eye... magic? When you only extract the 2D, or one eye, portion from a 3D movie, the other bits are left in the bit-bucket.VAMET wrote:Why there is a difference?

VLC doesn't play DTSMAHD. Unless that has recently changed.Yugatha wrote:The best measure to test is to use VLC Media Player, which plays back basically all audio and video formats.

Obviously you didn't search the forum. 4K UHD discs cannot be decrypted at this point in time. The AACS 2.0 has not been hacked.

UHD AACS protection has not been broken yet, so you can't copy the content to a server for Plex usage.Xaikar wrote:I really backing up the content and placing it on my Plex server.

Re: Digital Millennium Copyright Act
I'm thinking that such a case is not wanted to go to Court by the DMCA authors because it is very possible that using MakeMKV for personal backup use as described above will be legitimized by the Court. Keep in mind that the authors of the legislation is the U.S. Congress. You can bet they aren't e...

Re: How do I rip a title WITHOUT the video stream?
I suspect that riplock will get you. The reason is that the M2TS file needs to be read in order to extract the subtitle. So, it will make no difference.

True, but the OP didn't say DTS-HD. You know what happens when you assume.Woodstock wrote:DTS is lossy, DTS-HD is not.

Re: V1.10.0 Advanced Profiles not working ?
Since AC3 already has experienced a "loss of quality" in its original compression (it is a "lossy" format), re-compressing it would degrade it further, so it is simply copied through. Since FLAC is a lossless wrapper, there is no re-compressing when converting from another forma...

Re: Slight confusion between different software types and us
Please note that commercial blu-ray discs are protected by technological measures preventing unauthorised duplication (including, but not limited to, "Cinavia" technology). MakeMKV doesn't remove such measures, so MKV file produced from a commercial blu-ray disc will not play on a blu-ray...

The reverent shows this. Also 2 new DLL files are called m2ts.DLL and mpls.DLL which create winreg entry's and folders on your drive. I'll update my findings on alligant when I get it. Reverent? I have the U.S. Allegiant release (for the moment) and there is no such directory as BDSVM. Any program ...

Re: Chapters - disable/enable option
Why? What is wrong with chapters? As pointed out, they take very little space. Chapters are completely ignorable when the MKV file is being played.VAMET wrote:if there is a possibility to untick chapters from the list, because I would like to create .mkv file without chapters?

Re: Allegiant
There is now a new folder added to newer disks called BDSVM. Unless it has been somehow magically added to the Blu-ray spec, it really should not be there. That means Blu-ray players will ignore it, but Java code on the disc probably won't. Do you have a specific example of a movie that has ...

Re: Toy Story correct MPLS
Play the M2TS files that are different (405, 504 and 505). You will see what language it was configured for. Then choose the MPLS file that contains the language you want.maddog510 wrote:Yeah I have. They all start with 66 on the segment map
