Re: 3D MVC Option
Win7 PC with Serviio connecting via network to Panasonic GT30A Plasma (as i don't have a dedicated 3D BR player yet). I have had a few issues with playback . They do play OK on my computer in VLC (2D only) but some refuse to playback or look like they're totally corrupted when streaming to the TV th...

Re: 3D MVC Option
When you view the type of video it will say: Mpeg4 MVC-3D Also sometimes there is a 2D and a 3D version on the same disk which the 2D version (separate title) will be much smaller in size. One of the discs showed this smaller size as only Mpeg4 in the video properties as well. If there are two if id...

*BUG* 1.6.8 HD-DVD minimum title length
When converting an HD-DVD, the minimum title length seems to be ignored. Putting a bluray in and setting to 800 seconds works fine. 800 seconds with all the HD-DVD's i've done tonight doesn't work.
Can someone else please confirm this.
Titles tried today
Bourne Trilogy, 300, Dragonheart.

Re: MKV file and new wdtv media player what next
I've had no problems with MKV's with multiple *supported* audio tracks. When you have unsupported tracks though that will cause issues with WDTV. As above, WDTV doesn't support PGS subs and if you convert them to SUP files they work just fine, but need to be manually selected when you start the MKV ...

Re: Oppo BDP-83 New Firmware
Dang. I got a WDTV to do streaming over the network. Has a few downsides compared to the Oppo, but at least i don't have issues with freezing and stuff. Shame that the '93 has it too, i was considering it as it had a few features that the 83 really lacked for media support, like NTFS and eSATA. Than...

Re: True HD Extraction and WD TV Live
Recently went through this question myself.
WDTV does not support TrueHD in MKV container. Only in M2TS as you've found out. Its not a problem with MKV or a bug with MakeMKV's process, its the WDTV Live limitation.

Re: Problematic HD-DVDs
I also have problems, but different trying to open the Phantom of the Opera Disc. Might be that my original disc is bad though as i don't even get to open it and select the title feature. MakeMKV v1.6.3 win(x64-release) started Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as C:\Users\******/MakeMKV_log....

Re: Problematic HD-DVDs
Mike, are the issues reported in this thread for some discs fixable or is it a major rework to sort it out? If fixable, do you have an ETA on when a newer version would be released that addresses the issues? Cheers. EDIT: I have updated a few of the discs that are now working in my original posts (e...

Re: Avatar forced subs
I am using Media player classic 1.3.1264.0 which I know is not the latest version, I did try the latest 1.4.2499.0 64 bit version but things got worse, no audio at all and no subtitles and it was playing too fast! The only partial success I have had is demuxing the original m2ts with TSMuxer and us...

Re: Problematic HD-DVDs
If it happens with all discs i think you have a problem with the drive as MakeMKV definintely works with more discs than it has issues with for HD-DVD. I still have some discs with issues and i will update my previous reports in the coming week or so as some of those discs are fine now.

They are defiintely not hardcoded for Avatar.setarip_old wrote:@ziprewitt
Hi!
If I remember correctly, the subs are hardcoded (part of the video).
Have you played your rip, to see if they appear? (There are only a few brief moments where "other than English" is spoken)

Re: HD-DVD subtitle support?
Tried MPC-HC, no go for subtitles. Any other suggestions?
I'm going to see if my OPPO BDP83 can read them when streamed over the network later today.

Re: Problematic HD-DVDs
I got one of those scsi errors with one of the Bourne movies, i just let it go for a while and it got past it and finished the movie. Surface of the disc was spotless and i've had no other issues like that with any other disk. It was a combo HD/DVD disc which i thought maybe they were more fragile o...
