Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

Kodi 18.7 on shield pro 2019. Shield directly connected to Panasonic GZ2000 oled tv. All the DV files made by the latest yusesope tool profile 4 work perfectly in Plex. I did almost 10 mkv with the latest release and no one of them plays including your sample downloaded from mega. I choose to play ...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

Sorry for the dumb question but how exactly do you edit the .xml file on the Shield? And did you utilize the .xml file listed elsewhere in the thread or simply make this addition? You don't. Edit it on your PC, put it on a network share that's mapped on your SHIELD, and use a file explorer program ...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

You can't. They use exoplayer as a shell for their playback but everything they do is either tied to ffmpeg or custom code they've written. Overriding the player, even if you somehow could, would break almost everything about Plex. I should have specified, I meant within Kodi. There is a Plex addon...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

If you're trying to play it on the LG C9 with the internal player, it will almost assuredly never support DV in an MKV container.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

That means, however, that we should be able to play around with the HD Fury settings to see if we can narrow down exactly what the Fury is doing to fix the issue. If it's not that it's stripping out bt.2020, perhaps it's a colorspace change.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Most people will likely understand this inherently but it should be noted for those that may wonder why the picture "looks dark" with this fix, if you're on an LG display while this fix is enabled, you will want to change the Black setting to HIGH in the picture mode. Because black is get...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Yes, if they fix this foolish issue it'll be the best device for DV playback. It's already 90% of the way there. Player support will continue to improve, nVidia will get their uhhh stuff together and get the bugs fixed, and we'll have a unified library that'll play on anything.

Probably just the continued attempts. Sometimes that's all it takes.

Re: 4 Out of 12

I'm not sure that's going to work properly unless you have the bus encryption key. Makemkv stores that in a file when it makes an encrypted backup. Personally I make a protected iso by enabling LibreDrive and then using imgburn. This disables bus encryption allowing the iso to work. Makemkv can then...

Re: 4 Out of 12

One of the things you can try now that 1
.15.2 is out is to lower the max read speed for uhd media. Set it to 2x and see if you have any better luck on those troubled discs. This isn't guaranteed to do anything to help but it's worth trying.

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

Mkvtoolix AFAIK hasn't been updated yet for the new mkv standard so if you edit one of the mkvs created by 1.15.2 I believe it'll lose the dv Metadata. Straight rips from makemkv for now until the tools have had a chance to get updated. It'll happen. Just takes time. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapa...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

I just watched them a month ago on my HTPC tone mapped with madvr. Didn't think they were DV for some reason. So I guess I will need to rewatch them on the Shield after I rerip them. :) Oh darn. LOL Yes, getting SMB to work would be nice for you. Of course having the new speed control on my NS60's i...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

The Matrix UHD's aren't Dolby Vision are they?

EDIT: Oh crap it is. I missed that one in my collection. Guess I need to re-rip that one. Nice!

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

So weird, I can get LLDV (Dolby Vision) to trigger locally, but trying it with the share and exoplayer isn’t having it. I guess due to it not being implemented in the APK, but I was hoping it would have worked for me like it has for others. Sorry, wish I knew more. Sucks that it's not working for y...
