Re: dealing with a 1080i VC-1 encode
Thanks, I have a fully working AVISynth solution, but would like to do the same in handbrake as editing AVS then remuxing ,etc in megui can become a chore is all.

Re: dealing with a 1080i VC-1 encode
@HTMLSpinnr in Avisynth I have to use cycle=6 with Tdecimate. I notice there is a custom detelcine box and in ffmpeg CLI via decimate you can specifity this. Is there a proper(ish) way to do so in handbrake?

Re: Error during playback of Doctor Who - The Complete Speci
It has made progress but is still incomplete. The only feature left missing is b-frame support in interlaced VC-1 and the old ones do not have that. You will notice this as blocky patches in scenes that are static. In windows you may be telling it not use libav under settings which is why it works, ...

Re: Error during playback of Doctor Who - The Complete Speci
@vexar01 the reason handbrake is bigger is because it can't follow the video cycle rate and decimate properly. they took 25fps and interlaced/telecined it to 29.97fps. in avisynth with Tdecimate I specifiy cycle=6 to have it look for and drop one frame every 6 frames (5 normally for ntsc) and give m...

Re: Error during playback of Doctor Who - The Complete Speci
as Romansh said VC-1 software decoding is broke still for intrlaced VC-1 in opensource decoders (most Dr. Who discs). to convert your going to need a windows box and avisynth (leaving the details out...google). for just playback ensure hardware decoding (GPU decoding) is enabled as the the player ju...

Re: First Error
Been there, My Pioneer BDR-XD04 would draw too much on read errors and would fail. Got a Diamond 4 port usb 3.0 hub with a 3.6amp power adaptor and been ripping away. Invest in a good hub as alot of 4-ports only have a 1.5-2amp supply and will not work even though they are "in spec"

Re: 6.1 DTS-HD to FLAC issues
Fixed with ffmpeg and libav updating so most PC programs are working too (MPC-HC, vlc, mpv, Smplayer, etc). VLC on my Android (yes, it exists...) plays fine via streaming off my apache server (ripped first and put on server). Check the hombrew community for updates, as a few years ago they had some ...

Re: The Last Stand (2013)
Hello folks,
@Mike_Admin: as simple as your solution is there is one problem...us Linux folks don't have a lisenced player to verifiy this on. After trail and error 506 (Title 40) worked. Any update on a easier way?

Okay here we go... Disc: Star Wars Episode 02-Attack Of The Clones-BD Rip DTS-MA copy: complete Rip DTS-MA to FLAC: Fail, no error messages, just program exit @Mango , compiled ffmpeg and libav from GIT and both map the DTS-MA correctly now so thanks. I Will marks this thread as follow. @Mike_Admin,...

Re: FLAC 24bit to 16bit removing zeros + audio delays
Well did some more homework. Think the problem is with FFMEG, as anything that uses it does not decode the 6.1 channels right (FFPLAY, VLC,etc...) while anything based on libav does (mpv, MPC-HC,etc) and you are right about the flac sizes straight from MakeMKV. I was talking about decompress-recompr...

Re: FLAC 24bit to 16bit removing zeros + audio delays
Using a version from dtsdecoder.dll from TMT6 under Arch linux of all things and have had only one audio issue (See end). converting with FFMPEG to opus and aac shows the source correctly (24bit 5.1/7.1/etc...) The only movies that act stupid are the Star Wars set but they use a odd 6.1 mixing. for ...
