Re: Processing UHD rips with Handbrake or other software
Hmm. Is the DTS being transcoded when you use the track? I am using an optical audio cord from the tv to the receiver and optical cannot transmit DTS like HDMI can (one of the reasons I need to finish my HTPC build). I do have the quality set to maximum and direct stream from my server. Yes mine is...

Re: UHD drives
Fox has ignored my request for a replacement disc (shocker, I know). So I'm going to try to rent a copy of Deadpool and see if it backs up correctly. Interestingly enough, I read a ton of people in the Xbox One S forums having issues playing back discs created in late 2016, which is when my was pur...

Re: Processing UHD rips with Handbrake or other software
I'm using a Sony X900E tv for playback until I finish building my HTPC. Interesting, I'm using X800E TV for playback (Android TV) but don't have lag when playing DTS tracks (only have 1/2 of Deadpool and Amazing Spider-man 2 at this point). Be sure to check your Plex Client settings to make sure th...

Re: Processing UHD rips with Handbrake or other software
Thanks for the info. Here is an update: I just ripped Blade Runner: The Final Cut and was 45 GB. I have a 10TB RAID but am already using 6 TB so I know I can't do too many 70+GB movies. I did re-rip La La Land without the Spanish and French audio tracks and only lost a few GB which is fine. What do...

Re: I can see the files to The Dark Knight UHD disc, keydb.c
So is there a list of JUST UHD discs so I can buy one for my testing purposes of ripping and playback methods throughout our house? Shame - I really was looking forward to The Dark Knight in 4K. :( You can either take the file from the Doom forums and manually remove any entries that don't contain:...

Re: A little confused
Another complication my Sony ubpx800 UHD player says unsupported audio. I was clicking different files from the stream folder from a rip and it did play a TrueHD file just not from MKV. Yeah, unfortunately a lot of devices don't support the same codecs when they are playing from a Disc versus when ...

Re: I can see the files to The Dark Knight UHD disc, keydb.c
I believe the key file needs to be placed in the MakeMKV data directory (defined on the 'General' prefs tab)... default is: C:\Users\[PCUserName]\.MakeMKV and it's possible that the leaked key is for a different version of the disc? Correct, it needs to be in this folder and the file name needs to ...

Re: A little confused
so there must be a way to keep the full audio? Okay, so basically the MKV container allows you to save as many Audio streams as you want. When playing the MKV, your client should then allow you to select which audio stream you want to hear. This is great if you want to store a movie with the main a...

Re: A little confused
I figured out how to insert the keys it was much simpler than I was thinking. I just copied them from various posts on the Doom9 thread on note pad. I unchecked all the unwanted files and made a movie only backup of the file I wanted. Worked good and processed fast. What I'm missing is how do I ret...

Re: Processing UHD rips with Handbrake or other software
Thats about the right size if you are pulling in all the audio. Every movie is different, but most will be 50-80GB. For me, I use MakeMKV to pull the video track and the main audio track and then don't re-encode it unless the source is VC-1, MPEG2 or I want to burn in subtitles. I am less concerned ...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
How does one match the UPC? I haven't seen any information about that - I haven't seen UPCs posted. I suppose it's still possible that discs with different keys are sold under the same UPC. not only possible but absolutely done. we are keeping track here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ......

Re: UHD drives
Well I bought a cheap copy of The Amazing Spider-man 2 from eBay since I was having issues with Deadpool. Ripped perfectly with my ASUS BW-16D1HT (firmware 3.01), so my Deadpool issue must be something with that movie/disc. Has anyone else experienced an issue where only 1/2 the movie rips properly...
