Re: Region 2 DVD won't unlock
I suggest you mention specifically what the disc is, since others may have the same disc.

Re: Strange File Creation
Are you burning (writing files onto a disc) or are you ripping (copying data off the disc)? Since you didn't post in the appropriate forum (DVD, Blu-ray or UHD), what type of disc are you working with? (See this thread for tips about posting in the forums: http://makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=1...

Re: Stargate 15th Anniversary
Yup, what Grauhaar said. I had no problems with this title. Movies with lots of segments is not copyright protection - it's a completely common practice, known as seamless branching. It allows disc authoring to include multiple cuts of a movie - or other changes such as Disney's common practice of h...

I also always recommend - tell us what you're ripping. That way people who also have it can check and help, and if you make the Blu-ray title the thread title, people who have it are also more likely to view the thread in the first place.

Re: How to choose between Duplicate files
Sometimes multiple playlists will have different language tracks for the purpose of region based language availability on regular Blu-ray players.

Try a folder without a space in it as the starting folder.

Re: OS error "the system cannot find the file specifed"...
Never had this issue, with any version of MakeMKV including the latest, although I'm using Win XP Pro and Win 7 Pro, not Win 10. On my dedicated ripping machine, I rip to E:/Video. E is actually my system drive (screwed up install). I make a subdirectory under the Video dir with my own preferred nam...

Re: Registration key not being accepted
Also re: your question about upgrades. MakeMKV is constantly updated to stay current with the industry. (You can see the updates here: /download/) Your personal registration key will always work with any version. Also, unlike other programs, MakeMKV does not rely on connection to an online server. (...

Re: Inconsistent File Size
Episodes can definitely vary between discs depending on how many episodes there are per disc, what other content is put on the disc (bonus features), and how conscious the authoring and encoding folks are being about maximizing available space and distributing it evenly according to episode length. ...

Re: 3D and/or 2D Versions
There is a lot of painting done to achieve the 3D, so you are not really seeing the original movie. You are seeing either the left or the right eye of the 3D version, with things shifted around in the frame. You're not seeing the original composition and framing of the film. There can be aspect rati...

Are you using the free beta key, or your own registered key?

Re: Current Makemkv beta registration key rejected by 1.12.0
This happens at the end of the month whenever a key expires before the new key is issued.
You can try setting your system date back a few days.
You can just take a few days break and wait for the new key.
You can register and get your own lifetime key: http://www.makemkv.com/buy

Re: Commentary tracks on Looney Tunes DVD not visible on Mak
First steps would be to look for separate playlists on the disc. Check if MakeMKV is skipping any playlist as a duplicate.
