Re: So, what does it take for BD+ newer titles ?

My understanding is that whatever version of makemkv you have, it transparently "phones home" to get the latest decryption keys available. I have never encountered a blu-ray disc that it couldn't decrypt, which is justification enough for the cost of a makemkv license. You may find discuss...

Re: makemkv crashes when reading dvd

Nothing looks amiss from the log. What do you mean by "crashes"? As in the GUI just disappears? What platform and version of makemkv are you using when you observe this?

Re: Handbrake not showing 7.1

If you want the 7.1, you need to have makemkv decode to flac first. You could also use eac3to , or the mmdtsdec bundled with makemkv. All of these options however require you to supply dtsdecoderdll.dll from Arcsooft Total Media Theatre . There is currently no other sure way to fully decode DTS-HD MA.

Re: Track order on BD rips

If you're watching the progress window as it opens the disk, it is fairly obvious when things are out of order, as shown by the sample I posted. Yes, of course, its easy to see when the disc order differs from the mpls order. You can also look at the "segment map" field of each the tracks...

libgl1-mesa-dev and --no-yasm

Two questions: 1) Why does the Linux installation page recommend installing libgl1-mesa-dev. I seem to compile and run fine without it. Is there some feature that this enables? 2) Why is the --no-yasm flag recommended to compile ffmpeg? Is it just so you don't have to install yasm to build it? Doesn...

Re: Flac discrepancies

I got my hopes up reading about "seamless sample level joining" in the 1.8.8 changelog. Unfortunately, I'm still seeing essentially the same thing with this new version. I say "essentially" because it appears that the first sample where eac3to and makemkv differ is slightly diffe...

Re: Track order on BD rips

I've noticed this too. The problem with having a toggle for the sort order is that don't know you need it until you've already ripped the disc and found the tracks out of order. I've thought that it might be useful to include the mpls number in the automated naming scheme in addition to the t##, whi...

Re: makemkvcon usage question

Unfortunately, this is not documented in usage.txt at this time. However, mikeadmin has posted about the --profile option to makemkvcon. I have suggested a corresponding addition to the documentation here For more information on how to use and create profiles see this . Also, a lot of the settings w...

Re: Feature suggestions -- drive locking and multiple instan

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to resurrect it to thank mikeadmin for working on this in spite of the "encouragement" above. I can report that I didn't notice any change in behaviour after creating an io_SingleDrive=1 registry DWORD value on Windows 7 64 bit. Regardless of the ...

Minor Feature Request: Overwrite All/Skip All

After titles/tracks to rip have been selected and you click "Make MKV", if the intended destination files already exist, you get a "File <path> already exists. Do you want to overwrite it? yes/no" prompt for each .mkv file to be written. You then have to repeatedly click either y...

Re: Flac discrepancies

The same thing happens with the theatrical cut on the same disc in the same place. As usual, the theatrical and directors cut are just different assemblies of the same pool of segments. Both the directors cut and the theatrical release have the same first segment which is 8:31 which puts the error m...
