What part are you struggling with it? Is there a certain step that is giving you issues?
Also, it's best to run MakeMKV on a debian-based flavor of Linux. What OS are you running?

Re: Multiple titles on one disc
Mike says he's working on a way to determine which is the "real" play list. It is coming in a future version of MakeMKV. That is going to be a good trick. In the example that I give above, I don't see how he is going to figure out which play list is the correct one. More power to him. Thi...

Re: Multiple titles on one disc
I've never used VLC to play a Blu-ray. I'll have to look into that. There are some instructions here on the forums from Mike on how to do it. He has instructions for both Linux and OS X I believe. I've had fairly good success with both, just not if you want to try and use the discs' menus. That's d...

Re: Multiple titles on one disc
While I understand wanting to use the easiest way to determine the correct playlist, there really is no guarantee any of these methods with length of feature would work. Additionally, I understand why discussing the topic could potentially lead to finding a much easier way that is guaranteed to work...

Re: Multiple titles on one disc
Yes, this is something Mike is looking to add as a feature. He has already pinned a request stating help with it in a couple of the various discussions. I wouldn't say that it's a fix (simply because there was nothing "wrong" with MakeMKV or that it was a bug), it's simply an additional fe...

Re: Multiple titles on one disc
Worth noting, Mike is working on an update to MakeMKV that will properly pick the correct playlist if a disc contains playlist obfuscation. I'm assuming he's automating the manual process that I described by actually parsing through the code of the disc to find what playlist the "Play Movie&quo...

Re: Multiple titles on one disc
Thanks for the quick reply! I'll start looking into it, hopefully there is an answer for how to get this to work from a Mac. Unfortunately no, this wont work on a Mac, at least not very well at all. I have been building out my entire home media solution using MakeMKV for over the past year and have...

Re: Multiple titles on one disc
Welcome to the world of playlist obfuscation. This is yet another way to make it difficult to determine the correct file for MakeMKV process. While may people will/can post the correct "playlist" here on the forums, the correct playlist version can really only be determined based upon the ...

Re: Seeking hardware recommendation: External USB Blu-Ray Pl
Without a doubt this is the best drive you can get IMO: http://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-Su ... lg+blu+ray There is no rip-lock and it it's incredibly reliable. Also worth noting that a new version of this (not advertised by LG, but it is a slight upgrade) that will supposedly play more friendly...

Re: Advice/Help with ripping subtitles from Blu-Ray
Your goal of how to have subtitles work (the translation when another language is spoken, but also English subs for the entire movie in case you can't understand the English or the kids are sleeping) is the same as mine. I'll warn you--although, I'm sure you already have discovered this--this is not...

Re: MakeMKV from folder and Volume Keys
MakeMKV won't get all the information necessary for decoding things. I find this interesting because ByteCopy has no problem opening a file (and getting all info from the drive to decrypt) and I just created an MKV file this evening over the network. Then I created the file again locally using Byte...

Re: MakeMKV from folder and Volume Keys
Networked BD ripping isn't going to work, because the network won't pass the commands to allow MakeMKV to talk directly to the drive. When it can't talk directly to the drive, it can't find the information necessary to decrypt the disk. While I understand what you're saying, I'm having a tough time...

MakeMKV from folder and Volume Keys
So I've been racking my head for about 2 months with this and can't figure it out: I have a an Asustor AS5008T NAS that allows me to share USB connected devices across the network. I currently have my external LG Blu-ray drive connected to the Asustor. From my Mac's finder, I can very easily access ...
