Re: WANTED: Results of UHD Rips with Dolby Vision

I give you that. I see no reason either to hate or get frustrated over open source development/developers as it does not cost anything to begin with and they have no control over closed source content like DV, but to each their own I guess. :D

Well technically at this time an Oppo is one of the best ways to view DV content, so can you really blame him?

Re: UHD drives

And to be clear, not just any drive 2015+. The list discussed in detail in this thread and several other places online exist for specific reasons. The drives need to meet these specific requirements to be able to read UHD BD discs/layers. Not all do.

Re: Trouble Ripping with LG WH16NS40

1. Helpful reminder that standard Blu-Ray issues (non-UHD BD) are typically discussed in this subforum: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=8 Also titled "Blu-ray discs" in the Forum Index. 2. What version of MakeMKV are you using? This information is important in order for forum...

I think this is related to topic because it specifically involves drive capability. I have an LG-WH14NS40 with the following info as per MakeMKV: Drive Information Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST Product: BD-RE WH14NS40 Revision: 1.01 Serial number: K92E3OJ4053 Firmware date: 2113-04-04 23:25 Bus encryption...

Sounds like you are receiving new keys. So.... First, make sure you are sending your dumps to: svq@makemkv.com If you got that covered, try reaching Mike at: support@makemkv.com Include your error/log, reason/explanation for the email and what’s going on (as detailed as possible), and attach your du...

No error message, but both doscs seem to fail at "ContentHash000.tbl" file each time. Any suggestions?
Do you have logs on? If not read:

https://www.makemkv.com/faq/item/8

Then provide the log if it creates one. With that information it may be easier for forums members to advise.

Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives

To add to jonghotti's correct answer. LG has nothing to do with and will never have anything to do with anything developers like Mike are doing here. Start by getting that idea out of your mind. And in theory, yes, technically when Mike adds support to his application for this drive with stock firmw...

Re: Arrival UHD UK

What version of the app are you on?

What is the exact error/warning being returned by MakeMKV as shown in the log/app?

This information could help forums members in advising you with next steps.

Re: WANTED: Results of UHD Rips with Dolby Vision

It's a closed, proprietary format and no way to store it in MKV. Today I saw a "release" of a movie that was MKV and had 2 video streams. I assume the second is the Dolby Vision layer. MediaInfo: Video #1 ID : 1 Format : HEVC Format/Info : High Efficiency Video Coding Commercial name : HD...
