Re: Questions About Writing to M-DISC
I have a few questions about writing data to M-DISC: After ripping the contents of a Blu-Ray disc to some folder called e.g. "Stargate_SG1_BR_S6D2" could I with the appropriate M-DISC drive write that folder to said M-DISC as a "Raw Backup" and have it be unencrypted? If the abo...

Re: What is the best optical drive in 2023?
We advise you to use the UHD guide by Billycar11. https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19634 I am running 1.02 with all three of my LGs (BP60 included). Four if you include my dead one. 1.01 on my Pioneer because it came with that FW. And my ASUS (x2) are on 3.10. You have to remember pe...

Re: Stalling
I sometimes do 3 discs at a time, but I've always put one disc in, wait for it to read the title, then move on to the next instance. That only takes a short amount of time for each disc unless the drive can't read the disc at all, which happens occasionally). Hello dcoke22, I would agree with your ...

Re: Update no worky
I got it working since but it’s had weird stalls for the last month takes like a half an hour to get the program to mount. It tried to reset my ver and over or takes forever in the first screen loading. Try just one drive and disconnect the other. Untick the multi drive option and see if you still ...

Re: Stalling
Since the last update it takes like 15 min for two disks to load up. It used to take like 30 sec or less each instance. Anything after 3 fails now. I even cleared out 40% of my drive thinking it was too full. Repaired, etc….tried everything. Anyone else having loading delays since the latest update...

Re: What is the best optical drive in 2023?
Which firmware version are you running in which drive/s? I just ripped Pacific Rim Uprising 4K in my new WH16NS40 with 1.05 firmware, no problem at all. Then put that same disk into my old WH14NS40 with 1.04 firmware and it failed with read errors. So I updated that drive to v1.05 and tried again, ...

Re: What is the best optical drive in 2023?
I didn't keep a log. I am just an end user, so why would I?? Could you please PM me the 100 discs that you stress tested my drive with? I am fairly skeptical there were many regular 1080p BD discs used! Which firmware version are you running in which drive/s? I just ripped Pacific Rim Uprising 4K i...

Re: Pioneer Blu-Ray Drive Suggestions
I was looking at purchasing a Pioneer BDR-XS07UHD and wanted to know if it is compatible with MakeMKV for 4k Blu-Rays right out of the box. I would go for a BDR-XD07UHD but those are over £400 whilst the BDR-XS07UHD is just £210 and my goal is to spend as little as possible to get into ripping Blu-...

Re: What is the best optical drive in 2023?
OP, I buy and rip a ton of discs still. Probably around 50/month. You'll keep hearing that Pioneer drives are the best. Which is true to an extent. They're also the most expensive (if you want quality) and the slowest. Well, I have finally figured out the problem with my Pioneer S12UHD. Although it...

Re: What is the best optical drive in 2023?
Quick questions, but very specifically and 3 parts are required for one answer: P1. What is the best optical drive currently on the market here in 2023? What I mean specifically, which drive has the latest capabilities and all of them in one drive? P2. Does that drive have firmware available to act...

Re: (Asmcom:) Pioneer UHD 4K Drives From £109.99, Cheap Shipping, Worldwide Service, Excellent Service!!!
I just registered to detail my experiences with Asmcom. I bought a MakeMKV license some time ago, as I had decided to migrate my entire collection from *.iso to *.mkv (because there is nothing that can play *.iso files from a server, at least not to my standards). This was quite some endeavour, but...
