Re: Am I missing Closed Captions with 2.6.3 ??
My brother is deaf and I have converted all my DVDs to mkv. I choose all the subtitle streams available during ripping ( I never know which is English, which is CC ) and that way I get the closed caption stream. During playback, I just choose the correct stream for viewing. For example, Media Info g...

Re: Avatar forced subs
I have ripped Avatar and the forced subs appear in both MPC-HC and JRiver (DirectShow filters). The subs are not hardcoded but for me, they appear as the second subtitle stream. The first is full captioned. When I rip from the original disk, I always choose both the forced and full subtitle option t...

Re: Activation Key expired
dtblair - does that mean the activation key process is automated? If so, I have a disk I'd like to check out tonight (just got a BD drive for my mac for Xmas). But if it's not, I'd hate to wait till tomorrow or Monday ... It appears to be, but I can't speak for the site. I paid through paypal, got ...

Re: Activation Key expired
I actually did purchase an activation key through avangate per makemkv.com/buy/ on May 5. All I got was a paypal receipt. No key. Complained to support@avangate on May 13. Still nothing. This isn't everybody's experience? I just purchased a license today. Within 2 minutes I received the activation ...

Re: Please post your success with FULL disc backup
I normally select only the main movie when converting to mkv, but more and more, there are various options for the movie: extended cut, alternate ending, etc that I also want to put on server. I don't want make several large titles for each movie, so I've been looking at the full disc backup as an o...

Re: Streaming
Streaming and viewing Blurays can take up a lot of system resources. Maybe you are running out of either available memory or available CPU cycles. I just bought an Nvidia card that does the decoding in the GPU for $20 after rebate. I'd also recommend that you have at least 2 Gig of RAM. I'm able to...

Re: Streaming
I got this to work across the network. In my tests I was trying to stream and render on the same PC which apparently can't be done. This was a way to view blu-rays on the same computer as the drive. Anyway, there does not seem to be any way to select the audio stream which makes it kinda useless. I ...

Re: Streaming
Yes it works on encrypted disks, thats the whole point! Its a cool feature because you can play the movie, from the disk, across your LAN on another device. OK, I've tried it with several different blu-rays and two different players (VLC and MPC-HC) with no success. It locks up the player. Can you ...

Re: Streaming
streaming starts a http server that presents an unencrypted .m2ts file (or vob for dvd). You can access this list by navigating to: http://<computer ip address>:51000 For example on my subnet i would do http://192.168.1.101:51000 or if just accessing on my pc http://localhost:51000 Then just play t...

I recently sold my OPPO BDP-83 on the premise I would get the new 93 prelease. Uh, no. It's not a prerelease, it's a way for OPPO to get free beta testing for only $499 a crack. It's definitely not ready for primetime. Anyway, I have been fooling around with the streaming capability of MakeMKV as a ...
