It seems, for some reason, the dovi_tool can't generate a rpu from a Resolve hdr10plus json directly but if you just inject the resolve json to an hevc file and then extract it to a new json file, it works.

What i dont understand is the hdr measurement difference. The avg_pq of "quietvoid sample is quite different than the original P7 rpu while the one created by this cmd is almost the same as the original. Your measurements are off somehow. This is what I get from measuring my profile 8.1 encode...

Yeah, sorry, I forgot they finally upgraded the pipeline to 10-bit. Still doesn't pass dynamic metadata though.

FYI Handbrake 1.7 does support both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision encoding.

Very interesting. I never knew extracting the RPU and injecting it in to a remux was a lossy progress. I thought it truly was the best of both worlds. It seems P5 DV is still absolute best, as it's in the IPTPQc2 colour space and includes both chroma and luma mapping; it's just lacking the bit rate...

Most people use an external player.

You can always try to install Kodi on webOS too, but it's not very stable.
