Re: Nothing on this site works.

Said something about a SDFtool. This forum is largely about MakeMKV, a tool to copy BluRay and similar discs. That program is found at www.makemkv.com/ It includes a command line program to change the firmware on your drive. I believe the SDFtool you downloaded is an interface to that program. Soun...

View Computer Manage/Performance to check disk idle time and queue length to verify you are not using that last 6G on your system drive.

My copy of Avatar has two subtitle tracks. One is as you describe with "Speaking in Navi" and the other is as you expect, without the extra stuff. Both tracks are 'forced subtitles'.
It seems clear that the OP is selecting the wrong (or both) forced subtitle track(s).

Re: Suggestion: Save Logs

If this feature is added, it should be default option "off". I do not want a list of all the discs I have decrypted stored for security and privacy reasons. I hardly ever decrypt the same disc twice and then only when the wrong playlist or audio track was selected.

Re: MKVToolNix for Dummies....

Expand Audio Track by clicking on the arrow. Click on Name in the expansion and change the Current Value to whatever you like. After you save that will become the new track name.

Experiment - poke around and click to find things.

Re: MKVToolNix for Dummies....

Select "Header Editor" on the left side then open your .mkv file. Make the changes you wish and then use "Save" under the "Header Editor" drop down menu.

You will likely get faster and better advice on the MKVtoolnix forum than here.

Re: MKVToolNix for Dummies....

You can change the movie title just by entering the new name in the proper tab and saving. No remux is needed. Maybe that works for audio and subtitle track names also.

Even a remux of a 1GB Handbrake compressed BR movie takes only 10 - 15 seconds.

It is hilarious. I immediately pictured a mad scientist's laboratory. Thanks for explaining its origin.

The disc reads from the inside outwards so the outside edge should have no effect. My real question is the "mind-bottling". Spell checker error or Cockney rhyming slang?

Re: Opening index.bdmv does nothing

Right again, Grauhaar!

Just opening the index.bdmv brings up all the available playlists. The disc button not needed. Just deselect any unwanted playlists and make an mkv of the selected one(s).

Yes, that is exactly what I'm doing. When I do this, nothing happens.
Just to be sure, after you open the index.bdmv file you do press the animated disc button in the lower left? No decoding/analyzing starts until that large button is pressed.

Re: Don't want to give up on makemkv, but...

Grauhaar is giving good advice. Is the movie listed in your log a concert recording? Maybe try a more common and recent movie. I did just verify the link in my first post to download the blu-ray keys and it does work. Make sure a recent dsall.svq is in your MakeMKV data directory. Other decrypting p...

Re: Don't want to give up on makemkv, but...

1. Have you downloaded the latest keys? 2. While the debug log is long there are often a few lines that will indicate the problem. Copy the text into a code window box in your next posting. 3. Sorry to be basic, but you do know the big disc button starts the decoding process? 4. Compression means zi...
