Mike Admin: Concerning Bitwise Correctness Of Ripped Files

I wanted to ask, assuming that a rip comes back with no errors, are the output files guaranteed to be 100% correct (i.e. the 100% correct cleartext of the encrypted file)? Stated another way: Does even a one bit error on the disk caused by dirt or a scratch that the disk mechanism cannot correct for...

Re: Rip speed capped?

You should never have to guess if your CPU is maxed out. Just open Task Manager (press ctrl-alt-delete and select Task Manager) and look at the Performance page while you are ripping. If any of the CPUs are over 90% then you may be CPU-bound. Otherwise, no.

Re: When will the beta end?

He is already selling it (and has been for a long time) :) http://makemkv.com/buy/ Yeah, I know that. I bought a copy about 6 months ago too. I should have phrased that as "you should end the beta". This doesn't feel like beta software when it has been working perfectly on every blu ray d...

When will the beta end?

This software has been working for me perfectly the the last 6 months or so. It has not had problems with BDs except one new one, and that was taken care of. Mike, you should start selling it. This is excellent quality software.

Re: Failure Ripping Terminator 3 Blu-Ray

I did the full backup. No errors. I guess the log reflects that: Debug log started at Wed Jan 19 05:14:01 2011 , written by MakeMKV v1.6.2 win(x64-release) Using 524544KB for read cache. 001005:0000 MakeMKV v1.6.2 win(x64-release) started 001004:0000 Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as C:\Us...

Re: Failure Ripping Terminator 3 Blu-Ray

I get the same thing. One interesting thing is it rips all files except title01.mkv fine. Here are the sizes for the others: 14,643,727,788 title01.mkv 506,211,940 title02.mkv 151,006,602 title03.mkv 83,753,179 title04.mkv 116,717,883 title05.mkv 256,114,124 title06.mkv 348,043,724 title07.mkv 93,37...

Re: Time Bandits Blu-ray throwing error

FWIW, I was able to successfully rip Time Bandits with the latest version. Disc was USA if that matters. It was in my list in this post:

Re: Cannot make MKV for "Knight and Day"

OK. This is now working! And what's more, I am so excited to do this rip that I didn't even bother to stop a rip that I am currently doing on my Payback Straight Up HDDVD over an XBOX 360 external HDDVD reader. I just started testing out the HDDVD function tonight on about 10 discs that I own and th...

Re: "Cinavia" watermark protection

Short answer is, by contractual agreement, if the hardware manufacturers want to continue to be able to display the Blu-ray logo(s), they are obliged to make their equipment do various things - like look for and react to AACS protection (or the lack of) and now Cinavia... That's all ...
