Am toying with the idea of just getting another drive but if there is likely to be a breakthrough in the next couple of months I'll delay. Expensive mistake :|
It should be a matter of a week or two.

Pioneer firmware update February 2023

As many of you have noticed, Pioneer released a mass firmware update for almost all drives. The firmware date is around December 2022 and release date is around February 2023. The sole purpose of this update is to disable LibreDrive and unofficial firmware flashing tools such as DVRtool. This will e...

my Bitdefender antivirus informed that it was disinfecting
The file in question that is reported by bitdefender is actually not used on 64-bit systems (most of the systems today). So even if it "disinfects" that file, the installation will continue without an error on 64-bit system.

MakeMKV obviously creates TMP files in the user's app folder,
named MakeMKV-abcd-e.tmp (a, b, c, ... digits),
size from a few kB to few MB.
They are not deleted and use always more space.
That's a bug (regression) :(
Will be fixed in 1.17.4

Seeing the same issue with 1.17.3.
It was explicitly fixed :((((
Please send the dump again then. Is there any simple way to emulate RPI3 environment with qemu or something similar?

I've even added an explicit comment at vt - https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/043e41ff5c309ac4e393e1e40a791c58ea21f2421736cd8e9631944cba629f0e/community. The file itself is 13 kilobytes, it is a 32-bit service installer - literally, it calls few windows APIs and exits. You can't pack much malware ...

Re: Ghostbusters 2016 - Fatal error occurred, program will now exit.

It certainly looks like a damaged disc, but MakeMKV should not crash on it, it's a bug.
Try making a full disc backup (non-decrypted) first, and see if you'll have better luck opening the backup.

Re: Registered version 1.7.1 on MacOS, cannot enable decryption for Handbrake on MacOS

The whole issue is about Handbrake being an application from "trusted developer" and MakeMKV being not. The way MakeMKV integration works - an instance of MakeMKV executable is launched by the host application (Handbrake) to do all the decryption magic. Because Handbrake is sandboxed app, ...

Re: Buffalo ‎BRXL-PC6U2B (faster rip speed?)

In MakeMKV, there is no section for LibreDrive Information so that would lead me to believe this drive doesn't qualify as described by the flashing guide in this forum. Yes, and this is very unusual. I haven't seen a BD drive on an unknown platform for a while. Any chance to open the enclosure and ...

I missed this one. Of course, and you don't need an explicit permission - the license explicitly allows repackaging/redistribution for this purpose.

Re: Making changes to GUI

To be honest, the MakeMKV GUI is open source mostly to satisfy the QT (and others) licensing requirements, and to ease the linux build. It was "truly" open source for a while, but was discontinued then. As for your changes - obliviously, your contribution would be very welcome. I'd prefer ...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives

Here is the process for adding LibreDrive support. First time MakeMKV sees a new LibreDrive-capable drive, it would produce a firmware dump file (named something like dump_FW_8D764A026549A275718D.tgz ) and would say something like "Please send this file to support@makemkv.com". The dump wi...
