Yes, if the content is within your display capabilities, DV doesn't have to tonemap/compress highlights/gamut.
But sometimes they do use the L2 trims to raise the brightness. The latest Mission Impossible flick is a good example.

Yes, the values in the plot are for the BL+EL decoded brightness.

Zidoo can save TV edid. Zidoo can set customised edid. If my TV is 2000nits and I set Zidoo edid to 1000nits, would it work? I dont know if there is a free way of getting your TV edid info. In order to display CMV4.0 videos, both the TV and the player must support it.

If the player is cmv2.9, it doesn't matter if the content is 4.0 and the player only uses the cmv2.9 block
if the player is cmv4.0 but the TV is not , only the 2.9 block is used unless the player is in LLDV mode.
