Re: Flashed wrong firmware and killed drive
Sorry just one more question... The firmware I flashed to get it back up and running, is that the latest firmware or do I need to update it now from LG? If I need to update it can you point me in the right direction of the correct file so I don't mess it up again please?

Re: Flashed wrong firmware and killed drive
Okay, I've flashed it and I think it's worked...
It's reading standard DVDs and it knows there's a blu-ray in there and identifies it but I am unable to play it with VLC Player... does that mean it worked but VLC Player doesn't support Blu-Rays or did it not work?

Re: Flashed wrong firmware and killed drive
It's on Sata yeah, but I have around 8 sata ports and it's on about number 6. So are you saying unplug ALL sata's and plug it into the first available one with no hard drives plugged in?

Re: Flashed wrong firmware and killed drive
I’m in now with the tools but when I open DosFlash it’s not detecting my drive. Just says ‘No ATAPI device present’. It’s set to ID mode and i’m using a 32 bit version of WinPE created with the tool linked in the video.
Could there be a bios setting i’m missing?

Re: Flashed wrong firmware and killed drive
I've tried that and it says it's not recognising my USB device... seems it's 1 step forward and 2 steps backwards :/
I'm trying to create a WinPE book USB with Acronis now.

Re: Flashed wrong firmware and killed drive
I've seen the video but I can't get that far because I cannot get DosFlash to run.
Does the WinPE boot disk have to be created with DosFlash or can I use another WinPE boot tool and create it?

Re: Flashed wrong firmware and killed drive
AMAZING, thanks very much. My only other issue is with DosFlash... I've pout my PC in test mode (it's showing that in the bottom right corner of windows 10), but no matter how many times I try it says that it cannot install the portio.sys driver and suggests to disable driver signature enforcement a...

Re: Flashed wrong firmware and killed drive
Okay thanks for clarifying that.
Where would I likely get the bin file from? Also does it support ripping blu-rays my drive if I flash it with a bin file for ripping them which is what I was trying to do in the first place?

Re: Flashed wrong firmware and killed drive
Hi Guys,
They are talking about a different drive in that post though... I'm a bit over my head to be honest. Is there anyone that might be able to give me some step by step instructions to fix it please?
Can my drive even rip blu-rays? i'm still not sure if it can?

Time to rip 4K
Hi, What's an average time to RIP a 4K? I'm currently ripping my first 4K movie with a LG WH14NS40 in an Icy Box IB-550StU3S Enclosure with a very high spec laptop. It's been ripping with Make MKV now for around 3 hours and still has 1 hour 40 minutes to go. Is this a normal time-frame? It's around ...
