Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020
Thanks very much. Yes, I use MakeMKV. So hopefully, when I'm brave enough to try, that will make the command as per your video - makemkvcon64.exe f --all-yes -d D: rawflash -i C:\Users\ME\Downloads\(Modified) ASUS ODD FW Changer (24.08.2019) + UHD Friendly Firmwares + Latest MK Pack (15.04.2020)\mk-...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020
Apologies, as I'm sure you get these questions all the time, but - Have just bought (but not yet installed) a BH16NS55 with firmware 1.04 on it, which seems to mean additional downgrade checks but not encrypted. So, looking at the new instructions (and older bits) and new video, it seems there is a ...

Re: Star Trek TNG
Seems to have worked so far, touch wood. Only Handbraked Season 1 Disc 1 but its chopped the blank ending off OK - finishes with CBS thingy then the end. Its probably just luck in that I'm just keeping all the English tracks and it seems the longer ones causing this little glitch are European / Japa...

Re: Star Trek TNG
Well, not sure what you mean by playback environment, unless you mean using vlc. Also haven't got as far as the episode you mentioned yet. OTOH, using MediaInfo to look at the episode 'The Battle', it says General Duration 46m03s, Video Duration 45m30s, Audio #1,2,3 Duration 45m30s...But Audio Durat...

Star Trek TNG
Am finally catching up with ripping The New Generation bluray box set. Am wondering if anyone found (for season one so far) that the length given is invariably longer than the length of the episode i.e. the episode length (in vlc) is 46m03s (a popular number) but the actual episode finishes about 30...

Re: What is the correct play list [insert title here]?
Any thoughts on whether I should try this Java Runtime thing for a PBS series bluray (Unforgotten, 400+ playlists) or the PowerDVD method or something else please ?

Re: What is the correct play list [insert title here]?
Can I just please ask, as of March 2020, the best way to (try to) deal with this playlist obfuscation thing for non Lionsgate stuff, in this case a bluray PBS series. Thanks.

Re: Alien 40th Anniversary 4K - volume key unknown
Basically Alien wouldn't rip so I read the Alien thread, i.e. this one and sent a dump. I waited. Then downloaded the hashed.txt file but it still wouldn't rip. Re-downloaded it a few times just to have a look but didn't see any new info for Alien. Saw that Daniel Craig stuff had started working eve...

Re: Alien 40th Anniversary 4K - volume key unknown
Thanks for the info. Assuming I managed to download the correct file to the correct directory, it still gave the same error, so I'll try sending that dump file.

Re: Alien 40th Anniversary 4K - volume key unknown
Am wondering - I should be able to rip this disc now ? When I try it says 'The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted. Failed to open disc'. It also generated a AACS dump file. I've ripped a few 4K's before and I thought it downloaded these keys automatically, is that not so ...

Wowzer, that was quick and easy and actually seems to have worked. Its on 1.02 now. Am seriously getting quite tempted to throw caution to the winds and buy a 4K movie to test properly.
Thanks very much.

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri
Apologies because I guess you've been asked this a million times before, but I can use this ASUS flasher to downgrade a LG BD-RE BH16NS55 firmware 1.03 Firmware date: 2117-11-20 to version 1.02 and I'll be able to rip 4K blurays ? I should download a version from Mediaflare ?, extract it, run the AS...
