Re: Is there a way to downgrade the firmware on a Buffalo BRUHD-PU3 from BU11 to BU10?

Good news: I just confirmed that my extracted FW works! I just got a new BRUHD-PU3 with BU11 pre-installed. I made a "DE" version of BU10. The downgrade worked fine with the modded Asus flasher posted on the first page. The "DE" version should be posted soon (and I suppose Mike w...

Re: Is there a way to downgrade the firmware on a Buffalo BRUHD-PU3 from BU11 to BU10?

Question: Does anybody know which tool can be used to remove keys and laser data from FW dumps? The good news is that Mike was able to extract the FW from my BU10 drive, and will hopefully post appropriate materials very soon for downgrading. :) In the meantime, just in case something goes wrong, I'...

I sent Mike some data that'll help him determine if the FW can be extracted. I haven't heard back, unfortunately. I'd imagine his plate's pretty full right now. :( Oh well. Good things come to those who wait.

Re: Cant Rip certain discs

Yes I was successfully able to use the tools provided here to flash 3.02 but Im still having the same issues(drive makes grinding noise with some triple layer discs), although this time it actually made a dump file but I don't know where to send it. I also couldn't find this supposedly working 3.10...

Re: WH14NS40: Firmware 1.02 or 1.03 preferred for LD?

I don't think that's right. I've been using *ahem* other software here & there as needed. (Don't worry, MakeMKV is my first love.) All the drives not only have MK firmware but are cross-flashed as desired. At least, I'm pretty sure I picked the MK versions of the FW. :)

Re: Are my drives supported?

Hi. I actually did plug in my drive eventually. With the BU10 firmware, it's good to go. :) I sent Mike some data to see if there's any way to either revert drives with BU11 (it doesn't work, or so I'm told) or to mod the firmware such that it'll work with LD. To be clear, drives with BU10 firmware ...

Re: Is there a way to downgrade the firmware on a Buffalo BRUHD-PU3 from BU11 to BU10?

Hi. I have a drive with the BU10 firmware still on it. Is there any way I can help out with extracting the firmware or otherwise doing something Mike or other devs will find useful? I'm technically competent but haven't been following all the flashing tools. Just let me know the steps to follow and ...

You're fine. MakeMKV will automatically handle everything.

Re: External Drive Recommendation

^ This. I have a BE16NU50, which is a dedicated external drive. The unfortunate thing is that I can't cross-flash it with any other FW. If I try, it fails. So, I can't switch over to Asus's (arguably) superior BW-16D1HT 3.10 FW. Meanwhile, you can take an internal drive and put it in a $40 Vantec en...

Re: Are my drives supported?

Hi. Sorry about the late reply. It's UHD official. I got it for easy usage when traveling. The BU11 firmware may or may not be supported by LibreDrive. I'm not going to flash in order to find out. :) If somebody has a drive with BU11 already on it and wants to report back, please do.

Re: Are my drives supported?

Insert a couple of Blu-Rays and find out for yourself. :) If it's supported, the info will come up eventually. For my Buffalo BRUHD-PU3 (BU10 firmware), LibreDrive didn't kick in for the first disc for some reason but did on the second.

Re: A good movie player for windows PC For UHD

I use MPC-BE and VLC 3.0 nightly builds. I kinda prefer MPC-BE but VLC should be a good contender once it stabilizes for the final release.

Re: Stranger Things UHD

Surely this is not by mistake that the disks haven't been decrypted yet. Something else must be going on...threat of litigation perhaps. I seriously doubt it. Why would Hollywood wait until now to go after companies like Mike's? I doubt Netflix is going around, quietly issuing legal threats. If so,...
