BluRay ----> normal dvd resolution

Hi all, sorry if this has been answered but I would like to rip my BluRay collection as 720 x 480 res. Can MKV do this? Thanks for your time.
Not by itself; MakeMKV just copies what is on the BD to the hard drive, decrypting it along the way.
There are other tools that will recode the video for lower resolution, such as handbrake, which is available over at handbrake.fr for free.
