Forum logs me out quickly -- why?

When I start to write a post about a problem, I run into another one -- the Web site forum drops me out pretty quickly. I can't complete a post. I hope I can post this one. Safari on MacOS 10.10.5

I have not had an issue with the forum logging me out, using Windows and FireFox or Chrome as the browser.
There is a check box when you log in to keep you "logged in", but, even if you don't check that, your session should stay open for a minimum of 20 minutes of inactivity... and each link you click on renews that counter.
