MakeMKV offset

Post by Tux12Fun »

Hi,

in which unit is the Makemkv offset?

Hash-Check von Datei 00024.m2ts an Offset 10316605440 fehlgeschlagen, Datei ist korrupt.
Hash-Check von Datei 00024.m2ts an Offset 10320537600 fehlgeschlagen, Datei ist korrupt.
Hash-Check von Datei 00024.m2ts an Offset 10320734208 fehlgeschlagen, Datei ist korrupt.

Hash-Check von Datei 00024.m2ts an Offset 10321324032 fehlgeschlagen, Datei ist korrupt.
Zu viele Hash-Checks bei Datei 00024.m2ts fehlgeschlagen.
Die Quell-Datei '/BDMV/STREAM/00024.m2ts' ist defekt oder ungültig bei Offset 10316476416. Es wird versucht, dies zu umgehen

Tested the offsets with dd and ddrescue and they are readable without errors.

How can i recover a disk if the offsets are not the correct byte position?

Can you give me a calculation to get the correct byte position in the File?

First, what version of MakeMKV are you running? There two recent versions that have problems with hash checks.

And usually cleaning will "fix" hash check errors.

Not sure whether the offset is in bytes or sectors; given the file sizes, though, I think it's sectors.

Hi,

I'm using 1.14.2 (gentoo)

Disks are clean.

Do you know the last working version number, then I'll try this version.

1.14.2 should be fine.

I assume that the Offset (Location) is in bytes counting from the start of the rip and not based on the M2TS (Stream Segment) file.

To see more, you must pass the Debug Log which may contain more information about the problem.
Good Luck :)
