Output file size

Post by chad1825 »

I'm sure this has come up before...

Can the output file size be changed? Most of my DVDs can't be copied because they are larger than the 4095 MB limit in MakeMKV. What are my options?

That limit isn't MakeMKV's. Your operating system is reporting the destination as being formatted as type FAT32, which can only have files up to 4GB in size.

I regularly rip MUCH large files than that, but all my drives are formatted as NTFS, or on a network drive where large file sizes are supported.

That makes sense. I'm using an older Windows laptop with MakeMKV since there isn't a Mac version. My main computer is a Mac Pro. I may have to start dual booting it again. Thank you.

Not a Mac version? Several Mac users here will disagree with that, unless you're talking OLD Mac version.

From the download page, "Requires x64 Mac OS X 10.6 or later."

If you're using a flash drive to communicate between them, format it as NTFS or ExFAT, and you should be fine. MacOS can READ NTFS find, but Apple blocked the write function in their driver.
