Changing the metadata tag on files in a folder?

Is there a way to select a group of files (e.g. an entire folder and edit the tags?

I LOVE MakeMKV and have converted a HUGE pile of DVDs and movies over to it. I had been using my Oppo to stream but I thought I'd try out Kodi. I like so much about KODI but hate the way it ogranizes and misclassifies (IMHO) many of my movies. I'd like to sort by folder but it doesn't seem designed to do that. If I right click on a file in Windows, it shows me details including tags but I can't actually edit any of it.

Are you talking about MakeMKV? Sorry, but I don't understand your question.

Windows doesn't deal with metadata creation/modification. Some programs (like VLC) allow you to change a file's metadata "title", USUALLY (doesn't always work the first time).

One thing you will have to remember to do, once you find a metadata editor and make changes, is to tell your media server (and possibly clients) to re-index files. Otherwise things will have changed, but not be reflected in menus/sorts.
