Label drive source name

It would be helpful if you could map the source drop-down label, to a custom name for quickly identifying a drive. On Windows 10, MakeMKV pulls the name from the "Bus reported device description" of the device properties.

Drives can be custom named via the registry, by adding keys, such as below. Maybe an option for MakeMKV to list the source by a drive name or letter.

Code: Select all

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\DriveIcons\N\DefaultLabel
Anyway, nothing major. Just a thought.

This is not the question you've asked, but the answer may fit - enable "ask for single drive mode" in preferences.

Perfect, thanks Mike!

I followed your instructions for the Reg edit and I was unable to get these named. I have changed the Friendly name of them so they are named in Device Manager but that seems not to translate to Make MKV. I am unsure what to make my Dwords for them in regedit. Where you able to get this working?

I can post screenshots if needed.
