TV Show Extras--A slick way to handle this?

Post by swampdaddy »

I'm ripping my retail copy of Rules of Engagement (Season2) and they have a blooper reel that I'd like represented in Plex. Currently it is stored in the Season 00 folder with an invalid episode number as the docs suggest. But I'm not happy with the way this is presented.

The filename is: Rules of Engagement - s00e91 - Bloopers s02_Disc2.mkv
Stored in Season 00

This is the way it looks: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2p5ja5nckppui ... 1.png?dl=0

Is there a solution to this?

Thanks,

R

choose expert mode when ripping it and set the name to whatever you want plex to show.
for existing file, change the title property in the mkv. mkvpropedit or whatever tool you like.

Plex uses TheTVDB.com to show names of episodes, synopsis and so on. I checked the Database for the Specials and nothing is entered there, see https://www.thetvdb.com/series/rules-of ... /seasons/0

If you know how this "Episode" is called you can add all that into the TheTVDB to get your issue fixed as well as help everybody else :) You can check https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/2755-rule ... uage=en-US to see if they have information you can use (but don't copy&paste).

If you don't want this you can click on the little pen icon for that episode and manually add the Title and synopsis and such yourself to Plex.

Since TVDB expressly forbids the use of their database for DVD Extras, I'm forced to use the Plex DB and to add things manually. The only down side is that if the specials were moved to another Plex DB then the manually entered metadata would not be there.
