Making 4k (UltraHD)+ 3d (stereo)

Post by mycop »

There is a video in 3D (stereoscopic) and there is 4k content (ultraHD) But there is no 3d content in ULTRA HD resolution. In fact, it exists but in the form of a very small number of "demos". Officially, the 4k 3d association is not supported by BlueRay. And you need to create content by yourself.
How I see it:
We take two identical movies in 4k And 3d and.... we make a MIX. Most likely it will be Half Over Under 4k and it will be turned on manually by pressing the button on the TV.
I was looking for about a year ago and now. There is no such topic anywhere.
I propose to open a discussion. Wich software can help with it?
To whom the idea seems meaningless, please pass by and not litter the branch with holivar. The only practical discussion is Making.

MakeMKV has no relation with creating 3D4K content - when someone creates a standard that "the industry" embraces, the ripping world will adapt to it.

However, the ripping world doesn't drive that - your best bet for trying to push standards would actually be the world of porn, since it has so much more influence than anyone here.

Oh, and did you notice that ALL the manufacturers of consumer-level 3D playback equipment abandoned the market during 2018?

:sigh:

You are posting in a forum which its primary purpose is to support an application explicitly called “MakeMKV” asking to change a BD industry standard, or for a completely unrelated application that supports and/or creates a 4K 3D BD content/spec which does not widely exist or is supported...... Holly hell, this does not make sense in any way. :|

As Woodstock has posted/advised, you are in the completely incorrect place for this. Mike—nor any other third party app developer for that matter that operates outside of the official content/spec creation in the BD industry—have a say or the capability to achieve this.

How you see it does not matter. It’s up to the major content creators/owners (in this case the studios who own the source content) and their partners (e.g BDA, Samsung, Sony, etc) to create the specs and official support for such content and specs.

You can’t just pull a BD spec out of your ass and then expect the rest of the world to magically support it by the push of this magical button. Just does not work that way. Specially, a spec (which again as Woodstock also noted) has pretty much died in several major markets in the past couple of years. Admittedly not all, but most hence why studios/BDA are purposely NOT pursuing 4K 3D specs.

Yeah, no. This shows your lack of understanding in the complexity of something like this. You need to educate yourself on the extreme complexity of developing, deploying, and implementing BD standards in any instance.
