Why has every subtitle a forced child?

Post by albundy »

I could see messages in the log saying to skip empty forced subtitles.

Is it possible to suppress these subtitles in selection tree?

Btw.: is it possible to the "real" tracknumber from BD?
Sometimes a BD contains more than one large video track with nearly the same values (just some seconds difference in duration).
Now I'ld like to view the track in vlc or my bd-player to find out what the correct track is.

currently makemkv start with 0 on the first useable track instead of the real track number.

The "forced child" is so that, if a track has mixed flagged-as-forced and non-flagged subtitles, the ones flagged-as-forced can be separated. If there are no flagged subtitles, the separate forced-only track is removed at the end.

Most software players will tell you the name of the FILE being played, in addition to the track number. The file name is the one common element between the players and MakeMKV.

Track numbers are a bit arbitrary.

But with track numbers I could check the video tracks in other applications to find out what's the right track.
