that’s not good for me, because shield tv pro 2019 does not support DoVi Profile 6.
have you tried it?

Can also confirm the 2019 shield and LG C8 plays the Profile 6 files just fine. I did not watch an entire movie but testing 2 movies worked just fine.

Edit: 1917 studders on the LG C8 but plays fine on the shield. (profile 6)

Now if we can just get Nvidia to fix the color issues on the shield playing back Dolby Vision we might get somewhere :)
Hi, yesterday I also tried 1917 on my Shield and IMHO playback still isn't smooth as I was expecting, I notice this in particular in horizontal movements (e.g. initial scene with Dreamworks logo). I used Plex for the playback. Did you notice anything similar?

Just for my curiosity, what's the issue with color while playing DV? Thanks.

yes , I have tried it today.

It is because this pull request has been merged to the tsmuxer master branch.

Just received my C9, can confirm that any profile 7 file created with the new version 1.0.1 doesn’t work on it (didn’t try other profiles). Tried again with the first version (also in p7) and so far every movie has worked, thanks so much to the person who posted the google drive link :D
I tried: knives out, 1917, casino royale, spider-man homecoming, 2001.
Some movies had dts tracks tho, I had to convert them to ac3 with eac3to but I’d like to keep the native dts if possible, is there a way ?

I also tried 1917 with profile 6 on Shield (using Plex) and seemed to work more or less fine (even if my eye still notice some lack of fluidity in the playback). What did you use?

Same, shield tv pro with plex app.

profile 6 is out of official guarantee.
shield supports profile 4,5,8

did you turn on frame rate matching in the plex settings? I've also noticed that frame rate matching sometimes doesnt work with the new exoplayer, and I eventually had to revert back to the old plex player to get it working.

Dovi Profile 6 has been deprecated by dolby.
@badrobot It's already been confirmed that Profile 6 is working on Shield. In any case BL+EL+RPU HDR10 tracks are profile 6 according to Dolby, we just can't have tsMuxer produce non-compliant files with incorrect profile simply because one STB would not accept a profile.

May I ask how you are verifying if the new vs old player in Plex is matching frame rate?

Edit: And profile 8 will also be deprecated very soon. Dolby is cutting all compatibility with HDR10 in favour of proprietary IPT colourspace. This does not mean that these profiles are "out of official guarantee". As far as I know, all SoC reading profile 5 also read profile 8, and all SoC reading profile 4 also read profile 6 as they have similar RPU structure.

Sure, if you have a Denon AVR, you can download the companion smartphone app and look at the input signal info. With the exoplayer, I was constantly getting 4k:60hz even when I had match frame rate turned on. Once I reverted back to the old player, it was back to playing at 4k:24hz. Another option is to look at the LG service menu during video playback. You can find more info on how to access it here: https://www.avsforum.com/forum/40-oled- ... st58698658

Awesome
I do not have a Denon receiver, but I sure will check out the hidden menu on my TV when I get home - thanks for this!

It was already off, I tried also with the old player but I still get such effect. It doesn't occur always at the same point of the movie so it might be that it's a player issue. I'd like to test it with another player but I don't know any other able to read DV on Shield.
